There's a MONSTER update out there now - about 2 Gigs

The extreme zoom out view is gone

I think that I'm going to have to take Simpsons off my tablet. I have it on my phone and tablet and it takes up too much hard drive space on the tablet.

I just had a small in-game update. I think that is a sign that you don't have enough space on your device for the game's liking.

It's HUGE. Almost a gb.

Looks like some halfway decent prizes, but the same 3-act thing we get all the time. At least so far.

Snow gets removed.

Hmm, somehow I missed that. I may have gotten it and tapped through or just missed that it was telling me that I got them.

I was playing pretty regularly and I missed the final prize of act 1.

Has anyone else been having trouble logging on? I can't connect to the EA servers ever since last night. I've checked on multiple devices.

I can connect in Chicago, but it looks like UK / Europe servers especially are having problems. The US to a much smaller extent, but some problems here too.

I am also in Chicago and I can get in. I did get booted last night around 9, got the message that I was logged in elsewhere (I was not), and had to log back in but it looks OK since then (knock on wood).

Whatever that was ended today (who at EA thinks another skin for Burns is a good final prize???)

And there's a new update in the appstores. Looks to be a lowkey mini event. Homer starts.

New update in app stores. Event doesn't start till 2GMT the 21st.

Since iOS has been really slow at putting updates in the store, pre-loading it with a start time later is a great improvement.

We'll see how the event actually is.

Looking at the new event a bit this morning. It really looks like a re-skinned Battle Royale. Hope, I'm wrong and they have some new interesting mechanic.

Pretty much yeah. But I'm ok with that since there's a lot of new characters this time, which is what I care about.

I am disappointed that the call boxes have a siren sound when you tap them. I was really hoping to hear the TARDIS wooshing.

Seems to be widespread. I had to restart my phone, then it tried to log me in under the name of '1'.

I hit logout and then it let me login under my usual account. I got a server can't be reached message a few times and then I finally got in.

There's an update in the app stores. I couldn't log in until I updated, then I had to do my age and login again and then I was fine.

A new something is starting. I guess a small mini update today or tomorrow, another big event next week. It's not even worth like discussing strategies or talking about OMG NEW EVENT because there's always a new event now and the format is exactly the same.

I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and that worked. Took a looooooong time to install all the updates - don't do this unless you're on wi-fi.

The update was a teaser for a bigger event. Bigger event hasn't started yet but probably will sometime in the next week. Sure hope it breaks the boring formula of the last couple of events.

They seem to be running out of good items to offer as prizes, too. I'd say that the game can't go on forever, but obviously the show has....

The show has GOT to end soon, right? I mean, they broke all the records that can conceivably be done. They have go stop someday... I'm guessing Apu will be relegated to background now, so there's another character down (the recent wall of all of Ned's dead ex wives was really funny) after Edna. Not Simpson family, but major characters whose absences are/would be felt.

And you can hear in the voices that the actors are not 28 anymore. They're all starting to sound like Lunch Lady Doris (another long-gone person whose hole wasn't filled). Dan's not going to have to "do" Abe's voice soon. He's just going to *be* Abe.

Not that I want it gone, but man, I can't believe it's STILL going.

What I want gone is these idiotic "Do jobs to earn one-time currency to get one-use buildings that can't (usually) be used for jobs later to earn more one-time currency", repeat 3 times crap. How about something new. I don't care about the prizes but these "do chores to get stuff to make the next round of chores come faster" fests are boring.

TSTO addicts has some inside info and says the next event starts on the 30th.

SPOILER:
And will feature Itchy & Scratchy land in some capacity.

Yeah, I hate these and I'm doing some now.

I just found out about the money & XP bonus from the Beach Hideaways from the Springfield Heights event. I never finished upgrading them and had them in storage. So I'm doing that now and having to craft coffee cups to be able to craft pills to be able to craft golden statues is annoying as hell. But I want that 100% bonus from having all 5 Beach Hideaways fully upgraded.

I am excited about Itchy and Scratchy Land though. I just hope it doesn't end up useless like Krustyland. Unless I missed something from that as well.

Also also...
SPOILER:
you apparently have 5 days to group store your krustyland and nuke before it gets nuked for you. I got 100 land tokens after nuking to use in my springfield to make space to consolidate krustyland with my main springfield. Also highways!

I like this!

One more thing, i had all Krustyland land squares unlocked. If you don't, you might want to buy as many squares as you can before auto nuke commences. The land tokens you receive upon nuking is based on the number of land squares you had unlocked in Krustyland.

As for the event itself, I fear that it is very similar to those we just had. That's not great. :(

I came in to mention this too. I used all the tickets I had to buy more land squares. I didn't get them all but oh well. Off to go start the event.

According to TSTO addicts we get Itchy for free but Scratchy will cost 300 donits. Damn.

I thought about Scratchy but 300 donuts is a lot of cheddar.

Moving Krustyland has been a pain in the butt too. You can only group a certain amount of squares and my phone is slow to respond with the grabbing and placing.

I'm not even bothering to put Krustyland back up. And TSTO says that if you place the Krustyland main gate you can't put it back in storage.

Also the Krustyland shuttles can now be used as transporters between the two of them. I missed out on the original ones back in the day and am now thrilled the shuttles act like them now.

I want scratchy but it's just too much even though I have the donuts. He'll be back at a discount, I'm sure.

Tapped out Addicts suggests that super high premium prices are what we're looking at long-term because so many of us earn donuts easily, even before farming.

That's a known issue. TSTO addicts has some suggestions. Scroll down a bit. It's the first Bug/Glitch mentioned.

Act 2 starts tomorrow morning 10 edt (or thereabouts).

While this event is almost exactly the same as the last year or whatever of events, I am enjoying it much more than any of them for a long time. Maybe because the prizes and theme work well for me? I dunno. I'm just happy I hate it slightly less than normal.

And I wonder how long it's going to take for me to stop being like "oh shit, I haven't gone to Krustyland in a while."
