After consulting a specialist on my latest shoulder problem, I walked to Walmart on Keeaumoku Street. Another balmy day in the 80s, but this close to the shore it was downright hot. Went to Walmart because we're trying to find a DVD player that will play our DVDs from Thailand. No luck, and the clerk wasn't sure if anyone here had anything like that. The wife will be back in Bangkok for a few weeks later this year, and there's a South Korean brand there, Soken, that is popular due to being cheap and will play DVDs from all regions. She may have to bring one of those back.

Good Mornin' Y'all! Up and caffeinatin', *YAWN* 'Tis 46 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high for the day of 64 and cloudy with possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin'. I must go perform candle duty today. Also I have a ton of stuff to read for CDI so I should attend to at least some of that today. Steak, baked N.O.T., sallit, and cheesey garlic bread shall comprise sup.

{{{red}}} sorry about your uncle.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify and don appropriate goin' about the public attire. Such bother!

Happy Sattidy Y'all!

Up for reals, and reeeeeeal happy about it... Dishwasher has been loaded, critters have been tended to, and I'm having an egg sammich.

We got some good news from the local electric co-op - getting power to the new workshop will be cheaper than we'd anticipated, so yay! The main trunk runs along our side fence, no more than a dozen feet from the build site. They'll put in a transformer, then run the juice straight to the side wall. Plus it can be done near the end of the fence, meaning we just have to disconnect and roll back one section of chain link - no cutting involved. YAAAY!

FCD's folks are planning to drive to Indianapolis from Ocala, probably Moanday, depending on weather. They're the only ones from what's left of their sibs who live away from Indy and I guess they want to go see the few who remain while they're still alive. FIL is on new Parkinson's meds that seem to be having a really good effect on him, so huzzah for that!

Meanwhile, we're waiting for our snow to hit - the greatest part is supposed to fall tonight, with a possible 6" in all. Here's hoping their estimate is too high. But I still have laundry to do, and I'll probably dust the ceiling fans and vacuum later. Good times!

Mooom, that's a lot of driving for a couple of older folks; have they considered flying? And good news on the new workshop.

swampy, rain in the forecast here, too, for most of the day and the evening. Looking at the weather map, it's in Mississippi now, but heading our way (Red, looks like you get some rain too).

Mid 40F's and not much change in that predicted. Going to soccer at 0830 and have no idea when I will finish. See you then.

MetalMouse - they don't like to fly. And they're just a wee bit stubborn... At least they'll take 2 days to go, instead of doing it in one shot as they used to. My MIL can no longer drive due to her macular degeneration, so it's FIL all the way. I'll worry till they're back in Ocala again.

The whole household is still asleep, and it's nearly 9. Buncha slugs!

The renovators next door have been coming at night for the past few days. They were here until 10 last night. Ugh. At least if they're here at night, they don't make me grouchy for a whole day.

Aaaaaaand now it's 10:17 in the morning, and I want to lie down and try to get rid of this flu, but it sounds like the renovators are back.

I think I might have tonsillitis as well.

Lucky me.

metal mouse, we actually got some rain last night. I'm just hoping that it doesn't become the winter mix predicted by some.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting, a load of towels and sheets in the wash and the puppy crate cleaned. Once I get showered, I'll head into town for groceries. Such an exciting life.

Happy Saturday!

It's a cold 27 degrees outside with a high of 32 predicted. Supposed to snow but haven't seen anything yet.

I slept in until almost 9.
As soon as I came downstairs my son wanted to know if I would make breakfast, eggs and toast. Ripple is so funny, he knows I'm cooking and leaves me alone until just about one minute before they are done. Then he comes and sits next to me, his tail wagging, because he knows he gets eggs and toast too. I guess he can tell by the smell.

I'm sorry about your uncle, Red. We didn't take up Ripple's food, I didn't even think about the cat getting into it. It probably would have been better to put the cat's food down. Ripple would have inhaled it and licked the bowl clean.

Time to get moving, lots to do around here.

Got invited to my work Christmas dinner today, it's next week (or possibly the week after, I'm not sure, I'll check next week)

Feeling exceedingly dozy. What's the earliest time it's acceptable to go to bed? I'm... uhh... asking for a friend.

Still no snow.

I'm feeling lazy and not getting much done.

I think the problem with my firestick is not the firestick but the distance it is from the router. That could explain why the firestick works perfectly as it is right next to the router, while the one upstairs is a floor up and a diagonally across the room. I guess I will be shifting something somewhere, I just don't know what is going to shift yet.

I suppose now that the dishes are done, I should start the laundry.

"Now" is good Nut.

Akiko pup took the treat I gave her and ran downstairs to eat it "with" hubby. So now I have all 3 cats in my room, because I left the door open for her to come back. Fortunately, I like my cats.

Fighting with my head today. I foresee nappage.

Today is ~50 degrees Amurkin and cloudy. Same for tomorrow and then rain all week. I see that my old home, Columbia MO, got about a foot of snow. I'm sorry to have missed it.

Great minds think alike, or something. Wifey wanted split pea soup Thursday too. Fortunately we had a big ham bone and some ham scraps in the freezer, so she made a huge pot-o-soup. She took a bunch of it to work yesterday and there's still a little bit in the fridge. T'was good.

Nuttin going on around here. Just wanted to say "Hi. I'm not dead."

I had my hairs colored this morning. Hubby made it back to his friend’s house near Orlando. He will be home tomorrow by 2 ish depending on what time he gets started.

I have been binge watching The Crown on Netflix this afternoon. I need to figure out supper pretty soon. I also need to make a trip to the grocery store but that will not happen today.

Our little cold snap is over though I think there is another front coming through the beginning of the week.

Happy weekend all.

It started snowing around 6-ish. We could get as much as 9-10" by tomorrow night. I'm so excited...

Supper was ribs that I found in the bottom of the freezer. I had considered getting groceries tomorrow, but I'm not going out in the snow. I'll let the road crews do their jobs without me in the way. I can go Moanday.

Time to reassume the afghaning position.

We got snow, not very much.
I don't know it we are supposed to get more.

I tried sitting outside for a bit today but it was too chilly to stay out long.

I think I have the firestick upstairs working, but I won't know until I let it run for a while.

Two loads of laundry partially done. They are hanging on the drying rack in the kitchen. I didn't get near as much done as I had hoped, Ripple has been a total pest today. He wants to play but he can't make up his mind how he wants to play.

Groceries are bought, but I had to go to Staples for the TP (they send a $10 coupon every couple of months making good TP pretty cheap). That's in teh recreational shopping area of town and on on a rainy weekend day, traffic was ugly.

I made Monterrey chicken, rice and green beans for supper. Now it's time to kick back with the paints to relax.

Good Mornin' Y'all! Up and caffeinatin'. *YAWN* 'Tis 61 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 65 with rain endin' sometime this mornin' and then becomin' partly cloudy. Does partly cloudy mean mostly N.O.S.? The big plan of the day is to deheathenate and then back to da cave for N.O.L.. I made the soup last night. I sampled it and pronounced it good. I shall heat up the soup and make cornbread. YUM!

To all you with snow, better thee than me.

Shades here's hopin' you get through the day with minimal bloodshed.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Purtification for deheathenization and the donnin' of appropriate bein' in public attire must also commence at some point. Le sigh.

Happy Sunday Y'all!

Up too early, I wanted to sleep in for a bit, but I woke at 5:30 and stayed up. I can take a nap later.

We have snow.

Near as I can figure, we got around 5-6" of snow. It was tiny flakes, not the heavy wet ones, so it should be easy enough for daughter and me to clear the driveway. FCD isn't allowed because of his back, and SIL is under Dr's orders to stay off his feet. So much for his promise last summer to shovel for us.

At least it came straight down, sans blowing and drifting, so the leaves under the eaves are not covered, giving Higgs and Cozmo a place to pee and poo. They're too low to the ground to use the rest of the yard.

Today's plans include clearing the driveway and figuring out what to make for supper, since I can't get groceries today. I'm going to be nice, dammit, and stay off the roads so the county can get them cleared. Plus from the looks of weather radar, there's still more to come. At least I don't have to work tomorrow.

Happy Sunday!

Slept in stupidly late. I blame the weather- I think I'm part squirrel, when it's all overcast like this I just want to curl up in bed and sleep til spring.

I have put some laundry on, and I do need to go pick up a prescription, plus maybe some shopping. Other'n that, I'm torn between defilthifying the place and trying to get on with some skool irk. Both need doing, but I neither have imminent deadlines nor high likelihood of catching plague from the filth yet. Maybe I should toss a coin.

Morning all. Finally got home last night about 8:15pm from the indoor soccer, it ran late due to some teams that normally play at the High School having to play at the Middle School due to booking of the gyms. Too tired to reply last night, so just letting you know I am still here...at least until 1pm, when I have to go back for another 4-5 hours of indoors.

Guess it worked out; it started raining yesterday about 10am and rained the whole day, so I wouldn't have been doing much anyway. It's in the 40'sF this morning and not due to change much, but at least the rain is gone.

All y'all take care now.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. It's raining, and it took two tried to get "Princess Pretty Paws" to do his business. it's the dreary kind of day that makes you wanna huddle up in a pub. Or in my case, go to an afternoon hockey game.

Daughter and I shoveled the drive in record time... I guess... I didn't time us. And the county plows have been thru the neighborhood, so we can get out if we have to, which we don't. I also cleared a bit of the back yard so the dogs can pee and poo. It's too deep for pug butts!

From the looks of the forecast, this should mostly melt away by the end of the week - in time for the next snow. But the roads should be mostly dry by Tues, so that's good.

Time to crochet in front of the TV!

72 years? Just how old are you?

Not raining here today. Next rain is supposed to be Wed. Don't think we'll get much snow this year. When I moved here 45(ish) years ago, winters were white, nowadays, not so much.

Was gonna get a hair,or two, cut today, but my barber has a cold, so no go.

Maybe pork roast and veg for dinner.

Wifey was talking yesterday about driving over to the coast today for a look-see.
Maybe.

We got snow if you can call it that. Some wet mounds on cars and some grassy areas and some slush and stripes in the road.

Made pancakes and bacon for breakfast and I think the OW is doing some sort of chicken soup for dinner.

I am LOVING the new Bud Lite commercial about the ingredients labels ---- the one with the arrows.

None of your damn business you stinking rugrat! Now get out of his yard and stay out of mine as well or I'll shake my cane at you yet again!

PS -- also watching the Patriots. The poor guys on the musket squad are going to be running low on rounds before this one is over.. They may have to visit the artificier before this is all over.

Not quite that old but not too far. I said, however, that it was a local favorite, having been in business since 1947. But I can understand the cold numbing you somewhat, as I do recall my own bouts with cold weather from decades ago, barely. Fortunately, now it is already 79 degrees here and not even 11am yet. A relaxing Sunday is in the offing, maybe a nice stroll along the beach.

RoxStar has a bit of a cold - her temp popped over 100 briefly, but now it seems to be back to normal. I watched her while her parents went out to get something to eat, and she definitely didn't act sick. Oh, and she's really close to standing on her own. Can walking be far behind?

FCD and I went to Texas Roadhouse for late lunch/early supper, so I'm not cooking tonight. I may have some fruit later. It's rainy/sleety out there, but we're in for the night, so who cares!

Back to my recliner.

We have more snow.
My son will have to shovel the sidewalk again.
Do him some good, since school is out he doesn't do much of anything.
It gets annoying.

The forecast originally said we were going to get maybe 1-2", we've got at least 6 and it's still coming down. I shoveled out my car in case the schools opened tomorrow and I had to go to work, but they just closed. So I will take the 3-day weekend.

It was a joke. Not even going to try making the obvious joke about a tackleball team requiring a musket squad.

BTW, Ruble, I'm older'n you are. IIRC
