Lin-Manuel Miranda and Friends Purchase NYC's Drama Book Shop

NY Times story here

This story warmed the cockles of my heart. The Drama Book store, a centuries old NYC institution, was facing closure, and that should not have happened.

Miranda is not only an amazing talent, but obviously has his priorities right.

Way to do, Lin!

The folks involved have a long history of association with the store and with the associated theater. I was really glad to see this...I'd read that the owner has been having problems keeping it running and that it was hanging by a thread.

Damn. I haven't been there in ages, but I used to use that crowded store a lot. I didn't realize that it was in trouble, and am happy that Miranda and friends rescued it.

I got my copy of Sidney Howard’s 1926 play The Silver Cord there, back in the days before Amazon.

You could get everything there.
