This presumes the film processing technician doesn't keep a copy, and that anyone receiving a print does not have a scanner. I would not consider film "way less likly to be spread".

Ah, the notorious "sheeple" argument.

Do as you so wish, if that includes taking naked pictures snap those photos. Not your cup of tea then skip it, and avoid negative remarks about people that choose to.
As I have utilized the ability to think for myself, I will choose to make whatever remarks I like.

If you don't want people to see it, don't take a picture of it. It's far too easy for these things to get out into the public domain and then they're gone.

Again - what difference does it make if your face is not attached to it?

Well I tried, but I couldn't quite bend far enough to...oh wait, that's not what you meant. Never mind.

Even without "your face attached" you still run the risk of the picture being labelled as you, and you get stuck defending or denying it. Obviously if you're not a famous person it's less of an issue but the potential bothers me. Clearly it doesn't bother other people as much, so click away as much as you want.

I suppose. I found that my ex-boyfriend had googled all of the variations of my username until he found some stories I had published on a website and read them all. Up until that point I was totally Ok with it - after all, I had published them on an open website. What offended me was when he contacted me to defend something in them. WTF? I blocked him. It's one thing to stalk me. It's another thing to stalk me, admit it, and try to make me defend something.

But that's all that came of it. I'm sure he's still reading. Let him. As you said, I'm not a famous person, and it's just not something that bothers me. To me there is a HUGE difference between defending a nude picture of myself, and one in a truly compromising position. Simply being nude is not that big of a deal, and I am not a nudist!

But of course I am not trying to sell the idea to you. I'm just saying, we have thought about the possibilities, too. My family would be the only ones I would really worry about, and my dad doesn't even know how to turn the laptop on. Most of the rest of my family would never, ever even mention it to me if they found something. Best to not acknowledge it exists.

If someone wishes you ill, they can label any anonymous picture as you, and you would be in the same position.

Yeah, but some people aren't that good at LYING. I know that if pictures of a 12 inch wanker were floating around and it was supposed to be me but I knew it wasnt' it sure would be nice to be able to say "that sure as hell aint mine" with a straight face knowing its true.

Mine's longer of course.

My ex-wife did this. She found some pictures online that could have possibly have been me, and sent them to all my family members to announce our divorce. She was kind enough to print and snail-mail photos to relatives that didn't have email. I saw them later and thought there's NO WAY I could have been that skinny, and of course my face wasn't in any of them, but the damage was done. Thankfully my family is sane and they all thought "WTF? Why are we even getting these? She's a sick bitch!" and words to that effect.

I can't think of any circumstances where they would be wanted. And the idea of taking a photo seems perverse to begin with.

A better poll might distinguish by age, or by whether the poster is currently (or was recently) dating.

Usually it's a newbie who digs up an ancient thread like this.

I was thinking the same thing; or at least expected a link to one of the more current penis-threads.

As for the question; not that I remember. Although there are big gaps in the late 70s section of my memory. I am assuming photographing someone else doesn't really count in the spirit of the discussion.

Often the thread is resurrected by a spammer, thereís a reply from a long-timer, and then the spammerís post is deleted. Or we could be experiencing a whole new Reality.

In the space of 8 years since this was posted there is now the new technology called Deepfakes to make this much more realistic.
Quote:
Deepfake, a portmanteau of "deep learning" and "fake", is an artificial intelligence-based human image synthesis technique. It is used to combine and superimpose existing images and videos onto source images or videos using a machine learning technique called a "generative adversarial network" (GAN). The combination of the existing and source videos results in a fake video that shows a person or persons performing an action at an event that never occurred in reality.

Such fake videos can be created to, for example, show a person performing sex acts they never took part in, or can be used to alter the words or gestures a politician uses to make it look like that person said something they never did. Because of these capabilities, deepfakes may be used to create fake celebrity pornographic videos or revenge porn.[
