I thought the 1 1/2 years thing was a joke. They haven't actually announced anything have they?

No, but it was a year and a half between Seasons 1 and 2, which is probably why they used that estimate.

What were your favorite eps this season? For me:

"Mortynight Run" (especially the unlicensed Jerry daycare)
"Total Rickall" (all of the bizarre false-memory parasites filling up the house)
"The Ricks Must Be Crazy" (the ship defending Summer, the miniature universes, Colbert's guest-star turn)
You nailed it. Also the best episodes of the whole series in my opinion.

Auto-Erotic Assimilation I think follows The Ricks Must Be Crazy and Big Trouble in Little Sanchez as best of the season.
I like Rick and Morty when it does gut punches and AEA has a great one.

Just discovered this show. Came to it by way of Gravity Falls, which my kid loves & got me into. Someone I was talking to said 'if you like Gravity Falls, you will love Rick and Morty - there's a lot of similarities, and even some crossover stuff'.

Well, they aren't similar in tone, that's for damn sure. Heh. Rick & Morty are a lot darker - well, as you would expect, as it's not a kid's show. But yeah, it's a great show, I'm loving it - so inventive it blows my mind. Not suitable for my kid to watch yet, unfortunately.

Looking forward to season 3.

Heh, been binge watching.

It is awesome how many similarities there are between Rick & Morty and Gravity Falls. I would not be surprised if the creators of the two shows, who are apparently good friends and do voice work on each other's shows, came up with a basic concept together and basically decided to make parallel variants.

Netflix has the seasons on DVD but not streaming. And the Cartoon Network plays it once a week so you could slowly catch up that way.

And now, courtesy of Comic-Con, enjoy Rick and Morty's (very NSFW, link spoilered) re-enactment of an actual court transcript from the state of Georgia;

That ending, though . . .
The dig at Jerry works in a second way - when his family hears the details of the message that Jerry supposedly sent, they'll know it wasn't really Jerry - and that way Jerry's family won't hate him for turning in Rick.

We loved the show, but for my money the best joke was after Morty has got his sex robot and he's hitting it like it owes him money, and the scene is the family downstairs hearing the noise and feeling the ceiling shake. They say a few uncomfortable things... and you figure that's the joke, ha ha, Morty's humping the sex doll.

Then suddenly you hear him running, and Morty dashes up to the table, sweating. He grabs the orange juice, drinks half of it, says "Uh.. back upstairs!" and runs away.

I don't know why but we were just crying with laughter.

Spider Peace Day isn't in our universe, either... but they were already celebrating Ricksgiving in that microverse before RAM returned to be disgusted by the great-ice-cream-ruined-by-flies that was a result of Spider Peace Day.

Pretty specific pitch, Summer. I probably could turn myself into a teenager and hang out in the zit-covered, hormone-addled, low-stakes assworld that is high school, but here's my reverse ask: why in the f___ would I ever do that, ever, and how dare you even ask me that, and why aren't you more ashamed of yourself?

Wasn't the phrase zit-covered, hormone addled, high-pressure, low-stakes assworld that is high school"? Somehow I thought he included "high-pressure" among those other adjectives that accurately describe grades 9 to 12 (and, from my experience, 7 and 8).

I wrote it down at the time - pretty sure "high-pressure" wasn't part of it.

But hey, somebody posted the opening scene of R&M S3's first episode!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0Iw...ature=youtu.be

Now that's just nasty.

Anyway - as far as cartoon series go, I'm really enjoying Star vs. The Forces of Evil. It is often described as 'like Rick and Morty, only for kids', and there are certainly some similarities - though again, very different in tone (naturally). It's a lot of fun, and fills the R&M apparently endless hiatus hole.
