And in case any of you were wondering what it would take for SNL to open with a sincere rendition of a Christian hymn, the answer is apparently President-Elect Trump

Alright, I'll play. Here are a few Baghdad Bob wannabes in Dublin, Ireland (WTF?) conducting the world's saddest protest.

Here is a black Trump supporter that said he wanted to see the Trump-haters reactions when Trump won. They did not disappoint.

Christian hymn????

That was "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen (who passed away on Thursday) and is not remotely a "Christian hymn."

A Christian hymn? OK gotta admit, not going to get an insight like that anywhere else. Now, that there, that's thinking outside the box!

I might not have left the church if all the hymns had been dark, kinda smutty Leonard Cohen songs. (So basically any Leonard Cohen song. RIP you horny old genius.)

"Everybody Knows" would be a good one too -- it even has actual Christian imagery!

I didn't vote for Trump, but there is a certain justice in how this abusive mother who expelled her young son from the house for voting for Trump in a mock election at school is probably dismayed right now at the electoral result.

It''s just the logical conclusion of the line of "thinking" (being generous with the term here) that all Trump voters are evil.

Democrats claiming that the democratic process was "undermined" by Russia revealing how they planned to lie to the voters is particularly funny. It just shows how out of touch the political elite is that they think that knowing the truth undermines democracy, while professionals figuring out how best to fool the public is democracy at its finest.

Alright, this is interesting if not coherent. It was undermined by Russian sponsorship of fake news, of the FBI director interfering in the election, by selective release of hacked emails by the Russian puppets at Wikileaks.

My personal schadenfreude is seeing the racist piece of shit Arpaio get tossed out of office.

The only part that Russia was the dominant force behind was the email hacking. Comey had nothing to do with Russia and fake news comes from hundreds of sources.

New York City residents are now paying for the therapy and counceling for those municipal employees who were traumatized by Donald's victory.
I only hope that Mayor de Blasio will soon launch a program, where, for example, DMV employees can retreat into a designated area (perhaps, we could provisionally call it a "safe space"), and continue this difficult process of healing.

Keith Olbermann is 'out his damn mind' (trigger warning: dementia is a sad thing to watch)

Somebody mentioned in another thread that the left needs an Alex Jones of their own. Hey guys, I think I found him for you.

That Olbermann video is pretty amazing.

I wonder how many people here actually believe and support what he said. I'd guess the majority.

Actually, being out of power is what's best for liberal commentators. They always sound more credible criticizing the administration than shilling for it.

I remember feeling a bit invincible when i was young but I did n't think I could stop cars going at highway speeds.

WTF are they thinking? That they are going to disrupt traffic by blocking a freeway as a form of protest? Its just fucking sad.

Do they still not understand that nobody cares about their political opinions?

So what you're saying is that they should shut up because they're celebrities?

And your opinion is more relevant because... ?

No, I don't want them to shut up. I wouldn't be able to laugh at then if they quit making videos like this. My opinion is more relevant because it's based in reality. This fantasy that the Republican electors are going to turn on Trump en masse is perhaps the craziest thing about this election.

Here's your schadenfreude, electoral college vote edition: https://www.reddit.com/r/HillaryMelt...ing_meltdowns/

It's a "shame" there don't appear to be any more ways Democrats can stretch out this defeat.

By the way, I'm glad this thread is still going, even as it makes me cringe. I can't judge since I'd probably be doing the same thing if Trump lost.

I'm glad you can appreciate the humor in it and let it slide. In four or eight years, it'll probably be your turn again.

I'm pretty far to the left, and I agree, actually. Keith isn't stupid, exactly, but he steps on what might be credible points by exaggerating little dumb things to the point that he makes himself ridiculous.

Bah. The only thing I can imagine that's worse than a President Trump is a smug Scott Baio telling us all to 'get over it,' as if a) anything is over and b) Baio had anything to do with it. Looks like I got my anti-wish.

"Oh, quick, I have to go vote for Trump! Chachi is a supporter!"

I'm a liberal and it's hard to argue with this.

I don't think Olbermann is dumb at all (I did not watch the video, I am not interested in what he has to say.) MSNBC et al. tapped into the liberal crowd that needed to hear its own talking points regurgitated back ad nauseam, in the same vein as Fox News did for conservatives. Rather clever, actually.
