Missing Thread. Spooky? Or am I insane?

I started a thread yesterday.
"Quit pointing that bad, bad, bad Finger at Beckdawrek"
It keeps disappearing.
Or am I going crazier?

ETA- it's not in the least an important thread. Just wondering.

And it's back. What the heck?
I swear it's left and returned at least 3 times today.

Despite my love of a rush to judgement and a totally baseless diagnosis of insanity, I'd go with board problems on this one. But you should probably track things closely!

Has anyone else's threads disappeared and returned?
I swear this is par for the course for me. Fits right in my crazy life.

What's been especially wonky for the last couple of days is the "last post" column not showing the last post. Also the little blue square indicating that I've posted in a particular thread.

I don't think you're crazy. I mean not more than usual.

I've noticed that occasionally, the threads will display as they were a while ago, sometimes even a day or two ago. ("Huh? I thought I responded to Beck when I posted just now, but it's showing Beck as the last poster, and I know she could not have had time to reply yet.")

Try refreshing the page. That seems to work to get things back to normal. For me, anyway.

No, no. It's not that. The thread is gone. It doesn't show up in my statistics or show any of my own posts or OP. It's just disappeared.
Then it returns.
Another Doper alerted me to it Thursday morning. So, I watched it. It left twice and came back while I was watching.
It had me checking my blood glucose and looking at my 'certificate' of Sanity().

My time stamp is still screwy.
God, I hope I didn't break the Dope.

I’ve noticed a few glitches recently. There’s a thread about Mayor Pete which keeps disappearing and re-appearing from the Politics & Elections forum. Also, my post count keeps going up and down, so you’re not imagining things.

Under“Politics and Elections” one of kanicbird’s threads has also disappeared entirely, and hasn’t came back in two days. It was entitled Trump’s latest slur in speech or something close to that. I checked my statistics to see if I could find it that way, as well as kanicbird’s, it’s still not there. I’ve never seen this happen before.

There was a thread about Republicans censuring Pelosi, and I couldn't find it at all yesterd. I recall posting to that thread. Now I was drinking yesterday, but after being unable to find it, I used the search function to look up my recent posts. My post to that thread didn't show up.
I see that the thread is there today, so who knows.

I had a similar problem, couldn't find a thread I thought I'd posted in. I searched multiple ways, multiple times, and it just wasn't there. Then it was. I blamed me until I saw this thread.

As to the thread title, has anyone mentioned the concept of a false dichotomy?

Have you seen the movie, "Shutter Island"? That might explain it.

Hey, I'm bothered by Mark Ruffalo as much as the next guy, but how do you think he's responsible for the board's problems?

Many of the things he "saw" only existed in his own mind. The Board has no problems. It's perfect! Our minds are obviously deceiving us.

Ahhh, that was Teddy (Leonardo DiCaprio). I see what you mean.

ETA: Uhoh. Can anyone remember what they were doing before they read this thread?

Yeah, I have noticed some odd stuff the last few days as well. Some threads I have posted in do not appear in my User CP, then they do. One indicated a poster had been the last to post in a thread, and when I go to the thread, someone else has been the last poster there.

I think the Big Brother auditors are finally onto the Dope as a place for sharing truth and facts and are starting to shut us down. I hope th

It's February (which is winter in the northern hemisphere) & we're missing content. Hmmmm.

You've been examined by aliens?!?!?

I had it happen to me yesterday. My post started a new page, but when I went back to the forum homepage, by post count it indicted I was near the bottom of the previous page. I was then able to go into the thread & see that there was another page but that could only be accessed by going into the thread & then clicking on the newest page; couldn't get there from the forum homepage.

I usually blame that sort of thing on caching problems, but this sounds like it goes far beyond that.

Do you know the provenience of every piece of artwork you own? Have you bought any new dolls lately? Were there any old cemeteries in the neighborhood of your neighborhood?

When I first read that threads were disappearing, I dismissed it. But the post counts and view counts are going haywire, going up and down randomly. At first I thought I was imagining it. Now I'm glad it's not just me.

Hamsters. I'm blaming them. They're eating threads and posts.
(Yes, I previously posted this exact sentiment but just like my great Uncle Seaburn, it disappeared)

This thread has disappeared multiple times for me, yesterday and today. My own post in it doesn't appear in my 'show all posts by Blank Slate' list in Statistcs. However, when I switch from sultantheme to Straight Dope v3.7.3. it reappears.

My Artwork is my own.
I own a Cemetary (really, I do. Only 3 people buried in it)
The dolls 'might' be the problem. Grand-wreks left an old purse full of Polly Pockets dolls and gummy bears on my deck. It was an evil sticky mess. I never brought it in the house. I cleaned them up outside and burnt the bag of gummy bears in the burn barrel. I still hear screaming when I go near the barrel. I swear I got all the Dolls out.

(BTW, this is the 2nd time I've posted this. The 1st one was better)

This is the "missing" thread. I posted in it, and thus automatically subscribed to it, but at some point I got unsubscribed without my knowledge. Spooky indeed.

When you do the New Posts how does the time shown compare with your clock? Do they basically match--with the newest post maybe a couple minutes before the current time?

If instead the newest post is an hour or two different you need to go into the settings to change the timezone shown.
