KC doing a horrible job tackling. That could be a problem.

I don't watch football but I generally watch the Super Bowl. This has been an enjoyable match so far.

I think this is like a lot of the other recent SB's. This will come down to second half coaching. Historically, Reid's been weak in this department, but he's really improved (IMHO) over the last 2-3 seasons. He doesn't just try to control the clock anymore; he tries to score - he gets it now.

Another great Niners stop. Keeping their team in it.

I certainly thought that the Niners would call timeout before the Chiefs punt.

Interesting. Shanahan doesnt call timeouts to save time, and then runs the ball to try and end the quarter. Then KC defense cant get an easy stop.

A year after the crime pass interference call and the new rule for reviewing PI hasn't changed shit. New Orleans got jobbed by the Vikings and now the Niners get jobbed for offensive PI.

Bullshit. Kittle clearly pushed off to get separation.

It didn't stop his forward momentum; the defender and the receiver are going to make contact each other. I have clue what football you watch, but that's normal contact. This isn't flag football.

If you want to sell it as a "close call that went against the Niners", have at it.: It was a judgment call.

But to compare it to travesty that was the Saints no call is just silly.

But if the Chiefs can stop the run, then it becomes a contest of QBs and passing games and I like KC in that department.

I think the 49ers win, but I won't be surprised if they don't. Personally I've got no dog in this fight. WHen I lived out near the Bay I kinda got attached to Harbaugh's Niners but those guys are long gone. And the sentimental sports fan in me wants to see Andy Reid get his first title. As an LSU alum, I wanna see Tyrann Mathieu get his ring as well. And KC's waited a long time for a football champ.
As opposed to me - I HATED the 49ers when Harbaugh was head coach. I've been "okay" with them ever since he left.

Well, the game has lived up to its pre-game billing so far as far as I'm concerned. I'm a little surprised that the 49ers haven't imposed themselves upon the Chiefs so far but it's a good, tight game so that pleases me.

I guess this halftime show is what passes for 'family entertainment' these days?

Logistical question: Seeing the fans there, I'm assuming the stadium just opens gates of some sort and allows the fans to run out on to the field during the halftime show, and then shoo them back into their seats when the show ends?

By current standards, yes. It did include a children's choir just before before the Double Ass Attack finale.

Don't get me wrong: I can do without the Harbaugh intensity. I had a major debate with some Bay Area peeps back in 2014 when he left. They said "ZOMG! Harbaugh's out, Jed York's the devil!" I agreed Harbaugh was a great coach but not as great as he believed he was. Harbaugh gets on everyone's nerves after year 3, which is why I think this might be his last year in Ann Arbor. He might pull a Lane Kiffin and coach at some rinky dink school like Delaware and turn in a 9-2 or 19-1 season and play the Pinstripe Bowl, but he can't handle big time.

Mindless rant over.

No, it's a travesty. You let the offense run routes unless they're pushing off and knocking the defender backwards - that did not happen. Awful call.

I hate the guy, but Nick Bosa is pretty effin' good.

And the Niners defense comes through again. Fun game.

Ticket holders have to stay off the field. The halftime crowd fans are actually hired extras that rehearse coming onto and off of the field and are given directions on how and when to bounce, sway, handwave, etc. Notice how none of them, like zero of them, were just standing there recording the thing on their cell phones like 80% of the them would be doing if they were actual ticket holders.

Mahomes throws behind Hill, possibly costing the Chiefs the game. I love great defensive football, which the Niners are playing, but Mahomes is having a rough game.

It's been a great game and for once, my team looks like they're going to win. The 49ers are my forever team!

Pole dancing is now half-time entertainment and I found it less offensive by far to the role the military now plays in our sports diversions.

My favorite Superbowl ad: Jason Momoa taking off his muscles and hair.

Bad penalty to take there. I mean I don't watch football and I know that was pass interference.

I get that that play where the defender doesnt turn around is pass interference.

But it shouldn't be.

The guy was on great position and, from what I saw, didnt hit Kelce before the ball got there. Receivers shouldn't have the right to go anywhere they want at any time.

And while I think asahi is dead wrong about the Kittle OPI being a travesty, the close calls have not gone the Niners way. It would be a shame if that decides the game.

What the hell was with a 54pt o/u, anyway? That is way over most of the regular season o/u-s. Was this supposed to be a big O showdown or something?

The KC Chiefs are a lot like the 1981 Niners. They make mistakes, the blow it off, they keep going.

Joe Montana threw 3 interceptions in the 1981/2 NFC Championship game against Dallas before "the catch." You don't have to be perfect; you just have to execute when it matters.

I agree. The defender's only fault seemed to be that he didn't dematerialize when the ball was thrown into him. Do defenders have zero rights to occupy their space on the field?

I'm getting bad vibes of SBXLIII, where the Cardinals came back from a 20-7 deficit to take a 23-20 lead and choked it away at the end to Pittsburgh.

I'm happy for Andy Reid. Sad that the Hunts win. Sad for Richard Sherman and Kyle Juszczck. Happy for KC. Sad that defense and a running game didnt get it done.

Great game. Enjoyed if immensely.
