Maybe his next sock will be something much more cryptic, like Psychlawn Bee or H.H. Waffenstaffel.

I'm thinking Not Z, and when called on it he will point that he really and truly isn't the personification of any grapheme.

Adam Waffen.

I have no opinion on the poster in question (who I haven't encountered). I was just proud of the pun.

How about any of these:
"Boo" Ken Wald?
Joseph Men Gala?
Al Spear?
Stephen Miller?

am77494 is a strange bird, and I have a vague recollection of having had run-ins with him over climate change issues. His gratuitous and rather pompous claims of expertise suggest someone who greatly overrates himself and are a little reminiscent of SamuelA, the ultimate examplar of a self-aggrandizing idiot. As far as that particular thread is concerned, he's correct about the fact that hurricane formation is the result of organized energy, and fortunately for us natural factors often disrupt that organization and prevent hurricanes even with warm sea surface temperatures and otherwise favorable conditions. But regardless of whether a nuclear detonation would be sufficiently disruptive, doing so is the equivalent of burning your house down to get rid of a housefly. We have banned atmospheric nuclear testing for a damn good reason. The whole idea is idiotic.

Nava, Troutman and wolfpup. Thank you for the many threads we have interacted on and the information exchange. It’s people like you that keeps the SDMB so interesting.

Your criticism of my actions yesterday are fair and understandable. I was having a bad day and let my passion overtake my judgement. I sincerely apologize to you and other members.

Is there anyway I can makeup for it ?

I feel like part of fighting ignorance involves admitting that sometimes, part of that fight involves excluding bad-faith actors from the conversation. Or does anyone truly believe that the fight against ignorance is enhanced by fighting it against this guy?

Well, there's "ignorance" then there's "deliberately obtuse." Like "stupid" it's hard to fix.

That's gone very entertaining now. If you enjoyed "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams", you'll love the new "Jet fuel can't burn a building" theory.

To be fair, it appears that he has two jet fuel theories - one that it wouldn't ignite outside a jet engine and another that it would have burned up so quickly without containment that it wouldn't have caused any damage.
