I saw an article today.

A musician, someone really cool, had to take sometime off because of some shit that they have no control over.
Its neither fair nor nice... nor reading the article is there one damn thing anyone can do.

Hard lessons are things you should say thank you for. Thank you for the music!
(I always knew you two would make a good couple, once you worked it all out.) Feel Better....

"Heathens" - Twenty One Pilots. This is just after "Unsteady" by X Ambassadors held my brain hostage for almost 2 months.

I use YouTube as a jukebox at work. I've been listening to these quite a bit lately:

"Where I Stood" by Missy Higgins
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9QNRvXH1HI

"Rey's Theme" by John Williams (from Star Wars: The Force Awakens)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65As1V0vQDM

"Boat on the River" by Styx
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9Qs8-BkiLw

"Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3rnxQBizoU

"Home by the Sea" by Genesis

All the animals in the zoo are jumping up and down for you
Asking you to be sure to plan a trip to the zoo as soon as you can
Storybooks that really talk you turn on with a key
[something something] all about the animals you see
Storybooks and zoo keys together guide you through
[something something something] awaits you at the zoo

Recently, I've had to play tracks of songs I know the words to, just to drive out that Everything Is Awesome jingle from a cable commercial. Grrrrr.

Marine Snow by The Musmus [a Japanese punk rock band].

I don't understand any of it, but I like the song.

A local radio station (WXRT for those playing the home game) has a morning feature where they do a movie review and then play a song thematically tied to the movie somehow. The movie was "The Secret Life of Pets" and the followed by playing "Pets" by Porno for Pyros.

For the next couple weeks I had "We'll make great pets... we'll make great pets..." in my head. Finally, it went away.

A couple days ago, someone on Facebook posted the news story of an "earth like" planet being found and commented on our new upcoming alien overlords. So, of course, I post "We'll make great pets" and started the cycle anew.

So I'm in the Blondie folder of the memory card in my car stereo.

Is my current earworm (I'm Always Touched by Your) Presence, Dear, Picture This, Dreaming, or In the Flesh? No, it's The Tide is High.

(Could be worse, could be Rapture.)

Tilted by Christine and the Queens

I saw this performance on the Graham Norton Show a while back and it stuck with me so I recently downloaded the song. The song is good on its own, but the odd dance (including a 'Captain Morgan' pose) does add another dimension to it.

Real riders ride in the rain. Nothing wrong with that. And sometimes snow and maybe a little ice too.

Bruce Springsteen's "Blinded by the Light".

I'm reading Bruce's autobiography (which is actually pretty good) and he just reached Greetings from Asbury Park.

Horst Jankowski & His Orchestra: A Walk In the Black Forest (1965).

A really odd one. Not just because you hear it so rarely now, if at all, but that I have no idea how it got in there. My brain, it's melting, it's melting.

You guys are lucky... you get real songs stuck in your head.

I tend to get the theme songs to the childrens shows my boys like to watch stuck in my head. Or if the shows have songs embedded in the episodes, they'll get stuck too.

Walk around for 2-3 days with "Go Go Thomas!", or the themes from "Ready Jet Go!" or "Tickety Toc" stuck in your head, and you'll be wishing it was a real song.

I just finished catching up on some of the Elections threads, came upon this thread, and only then realize I've been earworming the 50's theme song for the film "The Blob." The same few measures over and over.... " (pop! sound effect) Beware of the blob it creeps, it leaps, it glides and slides..."
I've no idea how, why, or if President-Elect The Donald lit up those particular brain cells.

At a restaurant over the weekend I heard that 80's song Pulling Mussels From A Shell, and I can't stop hearing it. In the 80's I scoffed at it, today I'd say it's kinda catchy. I wouldn't pay money to hear it, as it is obviously available for free about a thousand times in my head after hearing it once.

I currently have "The Night Begins To Shine" by B.E.R. from Teen Titans, Go! in my head. I do not want it there, but there it is.
