Keep forgetting to put my characters on jobs using the unemployment office. Losing money by having all these idle folks!

Tonight I remembered to put them to work. 24 hour tasks for everyone!

Come here a minute later to find out the new story line is out and now all my peeps are tied up.

Ho ho d'oh!

Yeah, then it goes into the regular 4 hour tasks for certain characters.

This event seems do-able without extreme effort, but, as with the last event, the prizes appear underwhelming. I'm getting a bit burnt out on crafting and keeping track of different types of currency.

I wouldn't mind getting the Parson, especially if he sings.

If you have King Winter or White Witch Burns, they both have tasks that earn antlers.

Worth continuing to upgrade the Gnome in Your Home?
I upgraded him to Level 3 before thinking it might not be the best use of assets...

The currency used to upgrade him is not used for anything else though, isn't it? Antlers are non-consumable (and presumably replaced for the second act), runestones are for crafting, idols and catnip (and presumably two more TBA) are for turn ins that earn runestones.

I want the Burns costume, but I don't really need new costumes for him, Homer, or Lisa. I'd like some for the slightly more obscure characters.

Just found out that the antler icon in the bottom left will point straight to pagans.

I have had three 1.2gigabyte-sized updates foisted on me the past 6 days. Is this common? Not interested in paying for 1.2 gigs of data, repeatedly, especially if I can't say "no, don't update, just play the damn game."

I doubt they're that big unless updating from a fresh install. Once you start it would show that most of the updates are already complete, but they misleadingly list a bigger size.

Have you seen the current Pit thread? Tapped Out warns you if you try to update on data, but do you not have wireless? At all?

Even my home wi-fi has a cap on it. Although at 1000 gigs a month, we have yet to get close to it.

Thanks for the tips. I got King Winter but not WWB. What was I doing last year. Apparently I was screwing around and not playing.

Just tried out the antler icon thing. Oh man that is so great. Saves a lot of time looking around town.

One thing this game has taught me is that I haven't watched the Simpsons in a LONG FREAKING TIME if the buildings and characters in this game are also represented in the show. I mean... when was there a Chinese real estate agent?

Glad it helped. It has been around for awhile, but the last few made it either really difficult to use (multiple clicks) or limited use (only after you've completed the track and are just earning donuts).

I am on a Kindle, and the counter icon for antlers does not take me to pagans. the antler icon for the quest to get however-many antlers to advance to the next stage does.

I lost out on a lot of antlers, since I didn't know how the Acts work. I still had well over 1400 carvings and 900 flowers/plants/whatever when the Acts switched to books and chicken fingers.

Now I've got the dump, the recycling center, and the rail yard competing for jobs for my limited population.

Yeah, ugh. I was hoarding them because I thought I'd still use them, and missed the Parson (is he worth he donuts?) because I didn't note when the event ends, except that the turn in track had one more day listed, but I guess that was just the turn in for donuts track.

Yes, the quest icon. It hasn't come back for Act II yet.

I got the Parson last night and knew I'd never collect enough antlers for even one round of bonuts, so I put the game side. Dunno yet whether the Parson is worth donuts. I doubt it. He doesn't pay like a premium character, and the new game characters the past several events haven't impressed me.

As far as the prize track, the only one I want is the Wicker Man.

I'm on Kindle, and I'm not sure of the timing -- it was sometime before I got the first prize today (snowman) -- a brooch icon appeared in my taskbar that takes me to pagans.

Try this: click on Homer and he should have a task about chicken fingers that's only 6 seconds long - I think that's the trigger for Willie

They seem to take awhile to show up, maybe after the first prize but I didn't note when. I noted that right before I earned the second prize (collectibles between snowman and Ba'al pit), the icon was antlers and immediately after switched to brooches.

Everybody still has a 6s task that clutters their job list and requires scrolling. Any idea how to get rid of it?

I spent a little time grinding on these tasks earlier today and made $10k fairly quickly (my bank is just over $100k, so it was a significant payout for me). I'll do it a few more times while the tasks are still available, to pay for my next couple land buys.

I had 419 donuts (wow) and I made the leap and got Jessie Grass. I wanted some help on the Monorail since many of the characters who do the recycling are engaged in Christmas tasks. I also want to get Herb and I'll splurge on him at some point soon.

I just got her. What was she from? The last 4-5 years I don't watch the new episodes that often because it conflicts with other shows I watch but I don't remember her at all. Was it maybe a Halloween episode?

I'm looking at the mystery prizes. I have enough for a gold box and would love to get Mr. Plow or Plow King, or maybe Springfield Mall. I might keep saving, because I'd love to get the Yes Man, but on the other hand, the other platinum prizes don't interest me as much.

Season 15, Maggie was discovered to have an IQ higher than Lisa's. Predictably Lisa went all emo about it.

He's a parody of Frank Nelson of the "Jack Benny Show." Frank always played a clerk that showed up no matter where Jack went and would frustrate Benny. He always started out with Eeee-Yessss,May I help you.

His exchanges with Benny were hysterical.

See YouTube link for an example

Well, I am exactly 65 satan rings away from getting Christmas Maggie. I already did the gnome in a boxes and the quests from the Springfield Library and Moes Tavern.

Let's see if popping pagans will push me over the top into Winner-town.

Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion?

Well, it's official. This is the most terrible game there is.

I was wanting to pop the pagans one by one so I could report back to you guys how many it took to go Over The Top with Sylvester Stallone.

But this heckin game said, "Nah Bro. Ain't happenin."

When I went to tap one of the little bastards apparently a bunch of other little bastards had wondered by and they popped all at once so I don't even know how many it was.

Heck this heckin game to heck.

But hey I gots my little Maggie-Waggie so I got that going for me. Which is nice.

In my town, and I don't think there's a modifier on this, a pagan gives 15 rune stones. So you needed 5 if that number is a constant.

And, of course, I meant brooches. Pagans also give 4 rune stones.

Now that I'm earning them, I understand that "bonuts" isn't a oft-repeated typo in this thread.

A week ago, I was offered a limited-time deal with over 100 donuts, 7 bonus days of XP Collider, and a few other things, for $20. It seemed like a good deal, so I splurged, and ended up increasing almost 10 levels in that week.
Between grinding on recycling & trash for the monorail, grinding out gadgets, coffees, etc. for Springfield Heights, and whatever needs to be done for Krustyland (I haven't even messed with that yet, but it's there when I'm ready), I'll be busy in-game for quite some time.
