Grrr.... Somebody pls help me with this riddle!

I had to “C&P” so please forgive…

RIDDLE THAT’LL KILL YOUR BRAIN

This is going to make you so MAD!

There are three words in the English language that end
in “gry”. ONE is angry and the other is hungry.

EveryONE knows what the third ONE means and what it
stands for.
EveryONE uses them everyday, and if you
listened very carefully, I’ve given you the third
word.

What is it?

__________gry?

Ok, I saw a site somewhere that explained it - I thought it was here, but I could be mistaken. You should search the archive to see if Cecil’s already answered it.

The jist of the answer was that it’s a word game, but somewhere someone messed it up. They had an alternate wording that made sense, but I don’t remember what it was. Sorry that I’m not much help!

Run away…run far away.

I don’t know if you’re serious.

There are only 2 commonly used words in English ending in -gry.

I have heard of puggry (meaning an Indian head-covering) and gry (dunno), but neither are common (nor indeed in my dictionary).

The answer to the riddle is intended to be ‘the’, but your example is not phrased correctly.

This has come up so much that it is one of Cecil’s FAQ (see the introduction page).

Move along there, please. Nothing to see…

Words that end in -gry

You’ve been here since Aug. 2001 and haven’t read the FAQ?
Next predicted post: Why do we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?

C’mon, SHAKES, I’ve seen you here for ages! Someone’s gonna get all slksdsdgry on your ass shortly!

upon preview: Thanks astro, for a more polite and informative response.

SHAKES hangs his head in shame…:smack:

Bah

Everybody knows the answer to that one, but nobobdy knows why a duck’s quack does not echo.

eh?

The question has been asked and answered…AGAIN. I’m locking this thread to let it sink down, and let some other, more worthy, thread take its place.
