"I have been flying for 20 hours"

The first line they've even said about it!

Jack was in the building with how many strike team guys, and he basically takes down the whole place by himself?

The stabbing scene was classic Bauer.

Anyone know where Black Bauer went to?

Well, you just had to know that when Jack asked about the FBI agent that it was not good news for the agent.

Who's Aziz? (sp?)

The dead guy with the backup hard drive whose apartment they are searching... have we seen him before? Sounds like he was Anderson's roommate? Do we know who he was? or just some random henchman?

I thought this too, I have no idea who this Aziz is.

Anyone want to take a shot at predicting the target that will "have the whole world looking" for Anderson?

Please don't tell me anything in NYC!

Innnnnnnnnnnnteresting. Regarding next week's episode (possible mild spoiler warning).

I looked at...
SPOILER:
...the imdb.com listings for guest star spots, and next week's episode lists:

Mke Novick! (Jude Ciccolella)

Considering that Marwan previously said, "The president is on a tight schedule" -- probably the president.

Or was that a rhetorical question?

So, PilotBoy actually thinks he's going to get away with whatever he's going to do.

This is the one thing that always gets me when it comes to traitors (real or imaginary). If I represent a foreign power wanting to bring down another country and I get a citizen from that country to help me, he's going to be the first person I kill once I get what I want. I'll make any deal he wants, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna keep it.

Chloe, Queen of Tact.

Nice cover for Edgar, though.

What kind of sucky software are they using where "column major" format will bring the system crashing down?

Heh heh -- little fake FBI agent didn't pick a good hiding spot.
Sure, get behind that drywall. We'll see how well that stops Jack's bullets...

I presume Anderson's planning to eject out of the fighter and let it crash. But I agree, Mr. Blue Sky -- I don't think Marwan has any intention of sending him on his merry way with his money and new identity.

Another episode ending with a bang ( ) plus the bonus of the typical Jack repetition with shouting.

Did anyone else think Jack was going to get this guy to turn around? I sure did. I'm sorta glad they didn't take the obvious way out.

The President's safety is still up in the air, so I think we can assume he will probably survive.

This episode seemed to move very quickly, in my opinion. Were there more commercial breaks than usual?

I thought that was funny.

Jack Bauer: Hardwired to always shout (and get an answer) when someone doesn't tell him what he wants quickly enough...

Still, I'm glad he's on our side! I'm pretty sure he could take Rambo apart and then win a marathon....

Perhaps Anderson is doing it for his sister.

The exchange between Bauer and the mercenary/terrorist/pilot reminded me of the cold war movie "Fail-Safe," when the military leaders brought in the errant pilot's wife. Of course,

It didn't work in the sixties, either.

I thought the same thing. Has worked well in the past.

I'm really getting tired of Maruan constantly getting away. Just capture him already and move on to the next guy up the chain of command.

This was billed as "The Most Shocking Episode Ever?" Please. It was obvious they were going for Air Force One in the last episode. What would have been shocking is if they hadn't been going for Air Force One at all.

Maybe bomb Canada or something...

Ooo, and lot's of knife snuffings this season! (Jack>Terrorist>Back o' the neck / Jack>Terrorist>Three to the chest / FBI agent impostor hottie>Jack's bud>Back o' the neck) There are probably more that I am missing.

So Jack mentions the FBI agent's name. Then she shows up (with no backup) and gets killed by HotTerrorist, and then Jack calls her cell phone at the right time, and she finds the agent's ID, and she can pass herself off as an FBI agent instantly, and ...

She was pretty lucky for a while there.

I actually enjoy this aspect of "24". Makes for quite a chuckle.

Note to FBI: never send a single agent to a possible terrorist site. How lame was that?

Also, note that the hit to AF1 was "inderect". I assume that means it wasn't obliterated.

Best line of the show: when Tony asks Michelle when she was going to tell him about her new love interest.. "Never, because it's none of your business." Right on!!

I was a bit surprised that the Prez would talk gloom and doom to the VP right in front of his son. Go into the Presidential Bathroom at least..!!

Isn't it amazing how the head honcho terrorist always manages to escape even though everyone else in the buliding is killed or captured. I think CTU needs to rethink their definition of "perimeter".

Great Episode as ususal with a few nitpicks. Let's stat with:

I have seen 1,253,000 cop movies/shows. Whenever a door is unlocked and there are signs of ransackedness; proper procedure is to secure the residence by making sure know one is waiting to pop you. I guess they don't teach that in FBI School.

speaking of:

Fake/FBI badass. No way does she fire a gun and Jack an CTU redshirt not smell the amonia like smell from the shots ten minutes later. Still I kind of liked said badass, she should have gotten way more airtime. Oh and while we're on the subject, what the freakin hell did she do with the body, where was the blood?

Chloe is a human being OMG!!! Let's see there is a hunt for a bad guy going on. Chloe and Edgar are shifting through alll kinds of data looking for correlation with terrorist plots. Meanwhile OSHA calls to say they can't get Mom's body out. HELLO! Totally gratuitous, we remember she died, no need to be so heavy handed.

You know, whenever someone touches my wife shoulderfrom now on, I'm offing the bastard

And lastly:

I only include the following because, well, it freaking bothers me. Neither the Stealth Bomber nor the Fighter are invisble to radar. What they are are much reduced to radar, the angles and material combine to absorb and bounce radar, so that the resulting signature doesn't look anythng like the size or shape of a plane. The effect is about the same, but still it bothers me when someone says invisible.

Also, the stealth fighter was using it's own radar in order to find AF1. Any of the escort fighters would have been able to detect the radar signal coming from the stealth fighter, home in on it, and take care of the problem.

Well, to her credit, she did enter with gun drawn. Problem is, she only secured everything to the left of the doorway (relative to her POV). She didn't bother to point the gun the other way. Maybe she only made it through the first half of that particular FBI training course.

Curits: Let's see... Things have been pretty busy this last hour, what with Jack leading the attack on Marwan's hideout and all. But I have this nagging feeling I'm forgetting something I was supposed to do. Hmmm.... Was it torture a prisoner? Nope... Torture an employee? Nope... Sleep with another mole? Sounds fun, but it can wait... Oh, I remember! Honor my promise to protect Behrooz! Ah well. Screw that, I'm going on coffee break. The B'ver is on his own.

As soon as the President (it still kills me that he used to be on that show where Bobcat Goldwaith [sp] did the voice of the puppet) started having the "heart to heart" with his son, I knew they were both toast.

I wish the Hot Fake FBI Agent had gotten more screen time, but it was kinda cool that Jack shot her through the drywall column.

And I thought they did a nice job with the shocked silence from Jack, Chloe et al at the end of the episode when they found out that Air Force One had been hit (indirectly, which I assume means that one of the fighter planes took a hit and some shrapnel hit the 747).

As Jack and unnamed partner were heading into the apartment, I said to my wife "I wonder which one of them is going to die...".

And once again, Jack follows the command I yell from the couch. When the fake FBI agent hid behind the drywall, I said "Shoot her through the wall!" Jack obliged. I didn't realize I had so much power.

Did Ziggy StarPilot actually say that he was on heading 552?

Both CTU and the Internation League of Terror seem to be up on the very latest in technology. How come neither one has ever heard of flourescent lighting? Or headsets?

He made a similar entrance at the end of Season 1 that was much, much cooler.

I realize we're talking about 24 here (AKA "Plot Contrivance Playhouse") but doesn't Air Force One have countermeasures out the wazoo? Flares? ECM? Disbelief has always been flying high with this show, but a single missile (fired from a missile armed F117 no less) got through? I mean, AF1 was on full alert, they knew they were going to be attacked, the escort fighters were covering... It seems like SOMEBODY should have TRIED to jam or spoof one lone missile!

OK nitpick over... sliding back into lurk mode...

Yeah, you'd think he would've learned his lesson about that from watching old Star Trek episodes. Don't be the new guy who beams down with the landing party or you're toast!
