Now that I know better than to use the “L” word I think I have the question … How biased or deceitfully agenda-driven is that segment of the national media that purports to be fair?
And which direction does that bias/agenda take in relation to the American people as a whole?
Perhaps you missed the point he was making. See, he knew that in an hour or so, you would have started up yet another thread, so he would save his comments for that one…
One would suspect that you do have a fairly high OP to non-OP ratio among your posts, although I’m not that interested in running the numbers.
Bad title - maybe we should stick with the “L” word?
“Nothing to debate, we see where your headed and your right but don’t tell anybody”
What the … !!! is a self-proclaimed right-wing bomb-thrower !!!
Yep, I listen to Rush daily (any good threads on his impact and value to political discourse out there?) and get my news/analysis primarily from the internet and Fox (I wish they hadn’t chosen Report/Decide Fair/Balanced as their slogans but I’ll hold them up against CNN and MSNBC any day.)
FWIW …
I grew up in the late 60’s and 70’s and lived in a part of the country where the only media was ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS (I think), a local paper and Time magazine. I’d like to think they were fair and balanced at the time but I’ve learned that they weren’t.
I think that because of that “legacy” they should be more fair and balanced than they are now.
I think that because PBS and NPR are subsidized with tax dollars they should be more fair and balanced than they are (and I think that the use of the public airwaves for free argument to equate other forms of media with them is bunk).
I think that right-wing radio is a totally different animal and shouldn’t be equated with anything other than left-wing radio. Too bad nobody wants to listen to it. I also wish Limbaugh was intellectually honest 100% of the time but I’ll put him up against Al Franken and Michael Moore any day even though his 15 hours a week provides his foes with alot of ammo.
I think Michael Savage is an idiot and I wish I could hear G. Gordon Liddy in my market… (you probably thought is was going to do a little pandering at first didn’t you?).
I think that the secular coastal blue state bias explanation could be solved with a little affirmative action!
Can’t speak for PBS, but during last week’s fund drive, they noted that NPR receives a whopping 7% of its budget from taxes (I did my best to reduce that number).
