Martin Green - British man with monocle?

I was watching a rerun of a 1960 episode of “What’s My Line?” and one of the panelists was a British man named Martin Green. They didn’t seem to say exactly what he did. I can’t find an IMDB entry for him, so perhaps he worked exclusively on the stage.

He looked to be in his 50s and he wore a monocle.

Who was this guy?

I can’t find a good match for him through Google either.

If it was spelled Martyn Green he played comedy roles for years in the D’oyly Carte Opera Company productions of Gilbert and Sullivan operas. Such roles as the Lord High Executioner (Mikado), and the Lord Chancellor (Iolanthe). He would have been veddy veddy British, and I think the age would be about right.

Thanks! That’s the man. And it also explains why mystery guest Julie Andrews (who was only famous in America for “My Fair Lady”) was so excited to meet him.
