Laptop keyboard repair

I’ve got a Dell Latitude D600. Somehow, the “g” key came off completely*. I still have the actual key (the black part your finger normally presses on). On the keyboard is now a little white square of plastic surrounding the actual rubber bit that presses down and makes the letter appear. Obviously, it still works, but is a major pain and slows me down a huge amount.

Short of spendin something like sixty bucks to buy a replacement keyboard and risk installing it myself, any suggestions as to how to replace it? the back of the actual key is completely smooth - it doesn’t just snap on or anything.

*mostly due to my own immense stupidity. I was usin a little metal thing, running it between the rows of keys, trying to clear out potato chip crumbs (I know, I know). Next thin I know, I’m missin a key.

Never mind. First law of NinjaChick’s Stupid Computer Questions: literally within ten seconds of posting it in GQ, a friend will walk in, see my problem, and manage to fix it in two seconds.

It did just snap back on… :smack: Mods, if you could close this…
