What was Michael Musto talking about?

On “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” tonight, Michael Musto made a reference to Raymond Burr and a glass table. Keith brought that discussion to a rapid close, so obviously there’s some kind of unseemly rumor there. What was Musto talking about?

Well, the usual thing one hears in connection with a glass table is that they lie down underneath it while someone else squats on top of the table and takes a dump.

Ohhhhhhhhkaaaayyyy…

I was sort of hoping there might have been an incident similar to the one described in Wambaugh’s novel “The Choirboys.” Well, come to think of it …

Oh, no, say it ain’t so.

This claim is a very old story that’s been applied to numerous celebrities in all walks of life over the years. It almost always surfaces in books about the sleazy underside of Hollywood. Try You’ll Never Make Love in This Town Again, by Robin, Liza, Linda, Tiffany. I’m pretty sure that it or some variant is in there, and they name a lot of real names.

Is the story true? Since every sexual fetish you’ve ever heard of and many that you haven’t are true for somebody somewhere, probably yes. Is it true about the specific individual named in the story? Heh. Three guesses.
