In Russia, stray dogs learned to use subway and commute!

I couldn’t think of a way to make the title totally Yakov Smirnoff.

I have a friend who moved to Moscow from the US a few years ago. He indeed has told me the same story, wondering how the dogs knew which stop to get off. Great instinct, I’d say…

When they start carrying a briefcase it’s time to worry.

It’s like the flys knowing where to get off the elevator for the cafeteria.

Why commute? Why don’t they just live in the city? It’s not like they have to worry about sky-high HOA fees.

Perhaps the obedience schools are better in the burbs for the lil pups.

Here’s a longer article with more detail:

Apparently there are a lot of abandoned buildings in Moscow’s suburbs, and the dogs live in them.

From the mind that brought us Master and Margarita comes… Heart of a Dog!

In Russia, dog strays you!!

I saw a dog wearing shoes yesterday. A small dog wearing yellow knitted shoes a bit like thick socks.

They seem to be turning more and more like us humans.

Considering that more and more humans are going to the dogs, it’s only reasonable for it to be an exchange program.

Pretty sure we’re getting the better end of the deal.

Wonders what the first doggy Doper nick will be

'm gonna take a lot more convincing that this isn’t kind of randomly anecdotal; I can see plenty of similar actions taking place on THIS is of “intent.”

Last winter, when we had a lot of snow on the ground that wouldn’t go away, I saw a homeless guy with a dog, and the dog was wearing honest-to-goodness little boots.

That’s fucking awesome.

Why do you insist that it’s instinct? What sort of feat would they have to perform for you to attribute it to intelligence?
