Aurora borealis viewing = nada

So I got up last night at 2:00 am and sat in the yard (I live in Maine) for 45 minutes hoping to get a glimpse of the northern lights - all to no avail. I did see a couple meteorites but no aurora borealis. The dog was quite excited by the nocturnal outing but me, not so much (especially when I had to get up for work this morning). Anyone have more success?

Nope. It’s been cloudy here so I didn’t even bother.

I live just north of Seattle and went out of for a peek at 3 am. Nothing.

This is just like several years ago when I got lucky enough to be in the south Indian Ocean when the Leonids or Perseids or one of those meteor showers rolled around. It was supposed to be incredible. Prime viewing spot was the Indian Ocean.

I think I saw one shooting star.

Y’all should check the weather channel. They showed a graphic indicating where they would be visible. I didn’t get up, as I knew I wouldn’t be able to see them from where I am. The graphic pretty clearly indicated neither Seattle nor Maine would be able to see them either.

But I’ve seen them before so it’s okay!

Have you checked your kitchen?
