Jimmi Carter on CBC radio, April fools?

So yesterday morning I’m listening to Sunday Edition on CBC radio. Michael Enright is interviewing Jimmi Carter on the issue of Canadian softwood lumber (a very contentious issue here). Enright calls Jimmi Carter “a washed-up peanut farmer” and Carter calls Enright “a very rude person”. I was flabbergasted.

So then I go to a CBC message board and discover that it was an April fools joke. Ok, but it kind of chaps my hide. This morning however, the Globe and Mail reports on this interview but makes no mention that it was a joke.

Anybody know if it really was Jimmi Carter?

I couldn’t have been Jimmy Carter, because he spells his name with a Y, even on Canadian Radio

Yea parrot that did seem fishy

Turns out it was a joke, guess neither the National Post writer or I listened to the end of the program where they admitted it.

I’ll tie a rock to this thread.
