Meat. Meat, and meat by-products. Three lanes full.

So, I'm driving south on I-5, about 2pm, when I come to a backup. Into the right lane, still moving... What the hell is causing the backup.

Right there, at the Northgate exit: 3 lanes of meat.

Totally disgusting! Several miles farther down the road, the culprit -- a rendering plant truck, with two trailers. The rear trailer is piled high with cow skeletons, the front one is full of meat, some spilling out the front.

Seems the truck hit the brakes too hard, and the meat spilled out the uncovered trailer.

Too Gross!

So, the question is, anybody see anything worse recently?

Note to Self: Stay away from the beef burritos at the Taco Bell in Danalan's town for a few weeks.

Actually, yes -- different story. Driving N on I-65 between West Lafayette, IN and Chicago we come upon a herd of about 40 head of beef cattle running at top speed N on the median strip of the freeway. We knew that there was going to be trouble because in about 1/2 mile they'd come to an overpass and the median would disappear.

We did the sensible thing: we got out of there.

Well, actually we stopped to call the state police. "Put those cows in jail, where they belong."

George Carlin said it best, during a "newscast" --

And there's hamburger ALL OVER the highway in Connecticut...

When I was a baby, my parents were driving us home from visiting relatives in Chicago, and got caught behind a pig truck somewhere in Ohio. Apparently it was the most hideous driving experience either of them has ever had.

Imagine. Being stuck behind a truck full of LIVE PIGS. Producing what pigs produce. Having it splashing all over YOUR CAR. Having to stop at a car wash because you're not even going to consider opening the doors to get out because then you would be exposed to the pig shit.

I'm so glad I don't remember this.
