The fools who attacked & looted a Liberian Ebola quarantine center.

It’s reported that some of the people who did this were upset that infected patients were being brought there from other areas. So apparently their remedy for that was to release those patients into the city and carry infected bedding and equipment through the city.

Well, at least it’s a self-correcting problem.

The looters will have brought it on themselves, but what about others they infect? What about if this accelerates the spread throughout the area?

If nothing else, I think we can agree that shooting these looters would have been a good thing.

This line from the BBC report, if true, shows the incident in a light that makes it explicable, rather than unforgivably stupid:

This last line in the report supports that one:

Behoid the Evil, and its name is Ignorance!

Doctors Without Borders think that it will take at least 6 months to contain the disease, and even that is optimistic.

To make matters worse,

(emphasis mine)

We don’t give a rat’s about Africa. We are starting to, however, we have found out that a bunch of our stuff is buried there.

The explanation is unforgivable stupidity.

Like mummies?

Yeah, i’ve got to say that this explanation does not make the incident any more explicable, or any less stupid.

Innocent men, women and children that had nothing to do with the attack are now in danger, you asshole.

I’m pretty sure you are over-estimating somebody
:stuck_out_tongue:

as for the OP - HOLY SHIT

Lighten up, Francis. I’m pretty sure that was a joke.

This is amazing. Just… amazing. The stupid burns with the heat of… I dunno, is the sun as lethal as ebola?

I have to say, my list of “things likely to be looted” previously had Ebola mattresses at the bottom.

I thinking “pity” rather that “Pitty”. Of all the injustices in the world today, you’d pit a fearful people.

No, it’s an example of ignorance. There’s a difference.
Ignorance is curable. Stupidity is harder to deal with.

Well, second to bottom. Ebola box springs go underneath.

It is necessary to know that this is a slum in the capital, and it has many people who came from groups favoured under the opposition. they are the poor and ignorant people who have mostly never had any access to any school.

After the long civil war and its horrors, and the administration of Taylor, it is a terrible situaiton of ignorance and lack of a social cohesion and any trust.
