Mimosas

Champagne and orange juice is called a mimosa. Did it ever have another name? Although the drink has been called a mimosa for nearly a century, it never really registered until the past ten years or so. It seems to me that in the '80s I’d never heard it, and the traditional brunch drink was called something else. If so, I haven’t had any luck discovering it. Maybe people just called it ‘champagne and orange juice’?

I’ve called them Mimosas for the past 30-40 years. They were common at college during the 80’s.

I’ve known them as mimosas since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, which takes us back to the 50s.

I call them mimosas in this thread, and nobody else mentions any other name.

Sometimes known as Buck’s Fizz in the UK.
