Bonnie Guitar has died

Overlooked because of Carol Channing's passing, I guess. She had one of the very first country-pop crossover hits with Dark Moon, which charted a second time when Gale Storm sang it. Obit.

I only know the name because of the song Johnny's Cash and Charley's Pride.

Thank you for sharing. And thanks to Mac Wiseman you'll learn about the letter Tex Ritter. (Ah John, DeWitt of Somers ago.) I love Bonnie's voice, for example in "A Very Precious Love" if you can find it. She also recorded a sweet selection of songs with "Moon" in the title.

Bonnie was on the December 18, 1961, TV show "To Tell the Truth", 9:29 onward in this clip, if the link doesn't lurch to it. The whole program is fun, with Johnny Carson, Dina Merrill, Tom Poston, and Betty White as the panelists. If you don't know what Bonnie looked like 57 years ago, even more fun to play along.
