I'll eat just one...oops they're all gone!

Ever plan to eat just one or two or a little of something and the next thing you know you ate a tub of frosting? When's the last time you accidentally scarfed down the entire box, jar, bag etc. without planning it?

Couple weeks ago, with a pack of rainbow Twizzlers. I'd gotten my sense of taste fully back for the first time in forever (sinus issues which had [sadly temporarily] cleared up), and the flavour dragged me along, until there were none left...

I rarely buy cookies at the grocery store because once I open them one box becomes one serving.

Never, because I don't take the bag or container with me. I take the cookie, piece of candy, or handful of chips or crackers and walk away. Having to get up again to get more is than enough of a disincentive for me.

Potato Chips (Lays to be specific). I simply don't keep them in the house, because the bag will be empty the day I open it.

If I bring chocolate in the house, I must eat it. The self denial starts at the store, I stand in the aisle reading labels, trying to convince my self it's poison. Eventually I pick something and go to check out immediately. And then I have to contend with the candy bars there. It should be a law against putting candy at the check out.
Really, y'all I am out of control.
I admit it.
Isn't that half the battle?

Cool Ranch Doritos. I can, and often do, eat an entire bag without even thinking about it.

Also the store brand salt & vinegar potato chips have become my new "snack crack". I'll just keep shoveling them in, even though they are making my mouth hurt something awful.

Dry roasted peanuts are my downfall. Since the peanut part is just a vehicle for the yummy salty coating, it's easy to eat more than I meant to without realizing it.

Mine used to be Peanut...then Peanut Butter...and now Caramel. I bought myself 2 packs last night (cuz you know, they're cheaper if you buy 2) and I thought I'd have a few a day just to curb those cravings.

I ate one pack last night and foolishly opened the other today at lunch. They'll be gone by this evening I'm sure.

I also have a weakness for grapes!! Sadly for a Type 2 diabetic, they're just about as bad as M&M's. sigh.

Skinny Pop popcorn. Oh, sure, the name has "Skinny" in it, and the plain kind has something like 35 calories a cup. Pfff! Who eats one cup? Why don't they measure popcorn servings in quarts? Or gallons?

Most lower-calorie stuff is dreadful. This stuff is not. It's better than homemade. They ought to call it popcrack.

Flaming Hot Cheetos. I can polish off a bag of those in minutes.

There was one occasion where I didn't eat the entire bag in one sitting—the time I bought an enormous, extra-large bag from Sam's Club.

I wish I had never discovered Werther's brand caramel corn. It's all crunchy and glazey and tastes like Werther's hard caramels.

Then I discovered you could mix roasted peanuts in with it, and now it's doubly addicting. It tastes like Crackerjack of the gods, with an emphasis on the "crack".

STAX are a copy of pringles potato chips but come in a plastic tube. They are so much better than Pringles and you can easily eat the whole stack. I don't like the way they come in plastic containers, though. I feel bad about that.

For those of us in states with legal edibles, delicious can be a real problem. I absolutely love Gaia brand white chocolate huckleberry bars. I'm not sure how many "doses" each bar is supposed to be -- it think there are 16 bite-sized pieces scored into the bar, but I could easily eat a whole bar in one sitting. An hour after eating 3 (or was it 4?) scrumptious little squares I start to notice my eyes seem to be moving independently of each other, like the turret eyes on a chameleon. Then I think "Maybe I should have stopped at 2 pieces..."

Rarely, for me, because I don't buy beer in smaller quantity than 20 packs. Otherwise, it could be more often.

Yep. Doesn't matter which brand: once you pop, you just can't stop.

Peanuts and Pistachio.

The rhythm of cracking the shell, tossing the nut into my mouth, and discarding the shell is relaxing. I'm steadily cracking one after another.

It's hard to keep up with how many and then stop.

A small bag can be empty after a night of tv. The wastebasket of shells is a stark reminder of the nights excess.

We rarely buy chips because they are too easy to gorge on. A bag vanishes too quickly.

Oh, shit. Easter candy is out. I am fixin' to fall off the wagon!
I like those chocolate covered marshmallow eggs and robin eggs.
Funny I like the pretty colored Hershey kisses but I don't like eating them. They are safe from me in the candy bowl.

Lays Simply Sea Salted Thick Cut Potato Chips

The most amazing plain potato chip ever made! I'm not sure why they're called "thick cut" because they're not what I'd consider thick cut. Maybe a little thicker than regular Lays. When I open a new bag, I first gaze at the loveliness of them. They're large, oval and nice and light in color. I have to be very careful - or an entire bag will be eaten in one sitting. Luckily my can of diet Coke will run dry first so then I have to be done eating the chips.

I hate those things, because I have to eat so damned many of them. I'm so glad they only come out once a year. My kids love them too, we went through an entire bag in one evening. I couldn't find them at Target the next day, and I'm very happy I couldn't.

I'll go through an entire box of Nilla Wafers, I don't buy them often either.

Hagen-Daz Rum Raisin ice cream. I always plan on making it two servings, one for tomorrow. But the darn containers are tapered and I can never tell when I am exactly half way through it, and, and... you know.

There are several foods I prefer to buy in small bags — almonds, cookies, chips, popcorn, chocolate bars, hummus — if I buy them at all. A serving of popcorn is “one bag” regardless of size. Portion control isn’t perfect, obviously, but works fairly well for me much of the time.

Oh, I always give up all sweets for Lent. As soon as I do, it seems like everyone is offering me treats.

You make it sound like that's a bad thing.

I've recently rediscovered homemade Chex party mix (I use Gordetto's rye chips as one of the ingredients) and make up about a gallon's worth so it will fit in a zip-lock bag. After more than one incident where I reached the end of a movie and the end of a just-filled bag at the same time, I pour a smaller amount into a dish then manfully resist the insistent urge to refill the dish when it runs out all too soon.
