> If they ran their enterprises from an office they rented downtown in a major city, their expenses would be much less and they wouldn’t have to cut corners on any death rays and could stick with smaller scale plans. If they have a need to impress visitors, they can do what successful world dominators have done and rented a floor in Trump Towers or the like.

Well, in _From Russia With Love,_ SPECTRE (a purely profit-driven crime cartel with no political or genocidal or world-domination agenda) is operated out of what appears to be an ordinary corporate office building – different from others only in that the boardroom is as big as the inside of a cathedral, the boss Number One addresses his underlings from a huge video screen, and every executive’s chair is equipped with a lethal electrocution device. All things considered, very economical.

Personally, I’m a big fan of **Palmyra** , Largo’s base in _Thunderball._ [ul]

Gotta go with Atlantis, though most of the island locations would suffice in a pinch.

I’ve been to [Piz Gloria](http://www.mountaindiver.com/images/road0920.jpg); [the view is nice](http://www.mountaindiver.com/images/road0922.jpg) but it just takes too long to get up there on that [darn gondola](http://www.mountaindiver.com/images/road0923.jpg).

NINJA TRAINING ACADEMY! You forgot to put that in, I think.

However, my first choice would be Drax’s planet-side digs, the underground base in the Amazon, complete with tropical vistas, waterfalls, and many babes lounging about in bikinis.

And a shark-infested swimming pool with a retractable armored cover.

There’s always the former monestary that belonged to Aristotle Kristatos. It has an elevator instead of a gondola.
