US$0.58/liter, which makes for $2.22/gal – has briefly dipped a couple of cents lower but has been mostly holding steady since midsummer. ---

In Las Vegas it got as low as $2.43 at the cheapest stations for a few weeks, but has crept up to $2.49 today. ---

Just for fun and giggles: The price just dropped recently, so I now only pay about 5.8 shekels per liter. Yeah, I’ll do the math for you: That’s a low $5.60 per gallon. 🙂 ---

The price of diesel at the big supermarket outlets has dropped to £1.00/litre which is the lowest in 6 years. That works out to $5.55/US gallon. ---

Still in the mid-$1.90 range in the Atlanta area, but I filled up in South Carolina last week for 1.67, less .80 supermarket rewards points, for a net of .87 per gallon. I was stoked! ---

They did this for numerous reasons, going after the frackers and others who have been cutting into Saudi market share, providing for their own needs and expanding refining and other operations. Oh, a nice side affect of this is keeping Iranian oil off the market as Iran can’t produce oil as cheaply as Saudi can. However, that isn’t the main cause for Saudi to open up the taps. Add in that the rest of OPEC probably wouldn’t play along if the Saudis tried limiting output. The gas prices have very little to do with Obama or Iran and very much to do with Saudi Arabia.
