I remember an episode of 60 Minutes (I think. It might have been another show like that) where they featured a man who pulled all sorts of hoaxes and got the media to buy it. This sounds like something like that. Either way its quite amusing. I hate cats. Off to work! ---

No, it’s legit. I remember seeing it at least a year ago. It was a lot less flashy, and didn’t have “edgy” things like the Save the Kitten Campaign. But it was the same site with the same mission. Remember that Christians can be as hip, edgey and funny as anyone else. They don’t all live in wierd fundy coccons. Nobody would be surprised to find this kind of content on an environmentalist website or something. It’s the same kind of thing, just a (vastly) different agenda. If you read the actual content, it is pretty much the same as all the other anti-porn sites out there. It sounds a bit over-the-top, because it is a pretty wacky belief. But some people really believe this stuff. It’s not just Christians. You’ll find similer rhetoric on feminist anti-porn sites. ---

Anyone else really _want_ one of those kitten T-shirts? I do. I can see them become cult clothing, but for all the wrong reasons. People will wear them as a joke - either to laugh about the kitten thing and/or the xxxchurch thing - without any regard to their True Meaning and Intent. ---

Now that´s what makes me crazy. You see, my respect goes to everybody and their beleifs, but when somebody thinks that his/hers beleifs must be the ones who count and lead the public opinion… I respect you, but respect me, don´t try to convince me to think the way you do or share your beleifs, you christian dude! Hmm. I think they are serious about being anti-porn, but they have a sense of humor about it. Well, not a great sense of humor, but the "operation Save The Kittens shirt was kind of funny. In their FAQ they say something about ticking off “stuffy old religious people”, so I think they are just trying to be edgy and appeal to youth. (Trying too hard, maybe.) The X3watch monitoring software really sets off my alarm bells. Who would willing install software that logs which sites you go to and reports that info to someone else? I wonder if there’s a keylogger in the software so they can harvest your porn site passwords. You know, for, uh, research.
