What plans does board management have to celebrate the imminent registration of its 10,000th member? Based on similar celebrations (major league baseball’s millionth run, the opening of the local Walmart) I suggest the following:[ul] [li]Give the guy a mug and T-shirt. It’s the least you can do.[/li] [li]Arrange an audience with Cecil. No big deal, you can run him through with the usual group of pilgrims.[/li] [li]Make the lucky winner moderator for a day. This I really like. Great fun for all concerned.[/li] [li]No reason the rest of us should be left out. Announce a one-day amnesty on trollish behavior. Encourage cross-posting. Disregard posting in the wrong forum. The board can handle it. The board is strong. [/ul][/li] Any comments? ---

Ah, but how many members are there? I assume the 10,000 (or 9960, or whatever it is right now) includes every screen name ever registered. This would include banned posters, discarded names, and all of **concrete’s** socks–that last has to be in double digits all by itself. For that matter, I recall from the thread based on the brief activation of the member list that there were a lot of people listed that I never even heard of, which probably means these folks have moved on. I have no idea what the number of genuine active posters is, but it’s way under 10,000. ---

Well, we have a problem folks. **Cantrip** is as of this moment our newest addition. The UserID# is 9987 but the number of members is 9,967. So, are we going to celebrate UserID# 10000 or when the member count gets to 10,000? Jim ---
