Simpsons: Homer and Marge learn the wonders of buying stuff out of their price range and then returning it the next day. Lisa donates $50 to nelson so he can start a small business.
Family Guy: Brian reads the newest book by Rush Limbaugh and subsequently starts to worship the ground he walks on.

Cleveland Show: It’s the Cleveland Show as if it were an actual sitcom, and it was filmed live.
American Dad isn’t on here cuz they already have a thread.

Discuss!!

Brian’s prayer at the dinner table was classic. Too funny.

_The Simpsons_ was painful to any fan.

Grandpa giving his inheritence early. This was done before

Marge returning things, done before and to make matters worse this is a steal off of _the King of Queens_. At least on that show, Carrie had a prior history of buying way too much.

I love _the Simpsons_ and I can’t understand why if you can go to any of the numerous _Simpsons_ fan sites you can find people on the Internet thinking of fresh things for the Simpson Family to do, yet writers paid a lot of money continue to recycle and try to insult the fans with throw away lines like Lisa saying “When you’re on long enough you’re bound to repeat yourself.”

_Cleveland_ was very boring, I can’t even remember it, except that it was a spoof of a live show.

As usual _Family Guy_ had it’s moments but not enough of them.

The Simpsons was just plain boring. I think it’s time for them to go.

The Cleveland Show I thought was done well. Not hilarious but amusing, and it did have the feel of a live show.

Family Guy could’ve been better. Wasn’t terrible but it suffered from Guest Star Syndrome. (See **The Lucy Show** )

American Dad beat them all.

So I have heard this argument many many times in this forum…where are these fan sites with these great ideas?

Personally, I enjoy the Simpsons comic books.

I wonder if anybody who watched Family Guy picked up on the political message it was going for. I thought it was a brilliant way to satirize the current “enthusiasm gap” that pundits are saying Democrats have.

I thought the Simpsons was horridly unfunny. I ended up taking a shower halfway through.

I liked the Cleveland show. I thought the “live” show was pretty humorous.

Family Guy was “meh” for me. I’ve never been a big fan of Brian and the only time I like when he’s a major player in an episode is when he and Stewie are together.

I am not a fan of _Cleveland_, but I watch it about half the time. It was horrendous.

Simpsons was not good, but not awful. Family Guy was Meh.

I don’t understand how they got Rush Limbaugh to repeatedly insult conservatives. Did they creatively edit his words after the fact, or does he just really love Family Guy so much that he’s willing to parody his own positions like that?

I thought _Cleveland_ did some really funny things with the live show bit. Seems like _Simpsons_ was deliberately trying to make the fans say, “Simpsons did it!” _Family Guy_ could have been much better (and man, for being a radio guy, Rush was just awful doing voice work). _American Dad_ was pretty good – I love Patrick Stewart on that show. Is he just willing to read anything put in front of him for a buck, or does he genuinely like to have fun with his Shakespearean voice? It’s awesome either way.

Was that really his voice or an impersonator?

His name was in the credits, so I assume it was really him reading the lines. In which case, I give him a lot of credit for his self-deprecating sense of humor. I never got that vibe from him before.

Seth MacFarlane was on Leno saying that it was indeed Rush who was a great sport about everything and was a dream to work with.

Leno and Seth (gasp!) agreed that Conservatives are a lot easier to work with when it comes to political satire because they seem to have less of a stick up their ass about these types of things. Democrats are too stiff lipped for it.

Not exact quotes, but that was very much the jist of what was said.

Yeah, oddly enough, Rush does seem like he would be cool with that type of stuff.

It was really him, he spent a good chunk of time pimping the episode on his radio show the week or so leading up to it.

I think this just cements the notion that he’s nothing more than an entertainer, and doesn’t even bother to pretend otherwise anymore.

Just watched the clip and heard “fuck”.

Then I read the comment, watched it again while thinking of fudge and heard “fudge”.

Then I watched it again thinking of fuck and heard “fuck”.

I’ve watched it a few more times starting at the “r” sound in cluster and I’m pretty sure it’s “fudge” he’s saying.
