I was surprised how far down this thread I had to go to see PLAN NINE FROM OUTER SPACE.

There are so MANY to choose from!

I have to support the claim that Under Seige was the only good Steven Segal movie (although, I did like his role in Executive Decision).

The most FRUSTRATINGLY bad movie, for me, was Starship Troopers. The book is a major favorite of mine and the movie got Heinlein’s major thesis completely wrong. I could go on about it, but I won’t (maybe I should start a thread on the subject.)

The all-time worst movie I ever saw was Blood On The Arrow. It starred Dale Robertson and Martha Hyer in a movie that NEVER managed to make ANY sense at all.

I agree with that criteria, and I’d like to nominate **The Swarm** , which has a zillion big-name actors but caused me actual physical pain when I watched it.

Yes Juanita you did see Best In Show on my list. After showing dogs professionally for over 20 years, I can assure you it was an extremely STUPID and FICTIONAL atrocity. The movie would have been a box office smash had they used the REAL goings-on at a Dog Show. Trust me, what they portrayed in the movie was not as funny as the real world of dog shows.
It is truly an experience you would never forget.

Ten worst, huh? Lessee…

In no particular order:

Very Bad Things
Godzilla (newest American version)
If Lucy Fell
Mr. Wrong
Moulin Rouge
The Ruling Class
Bicentennial Man
Mrs. Doubtfire
Austin Powers
Meet The Parents

I’m with **gobear** ; I think low-budget movies should be exempt. Yes, it’s easy to nominate Plan 9 From Outer Space or Manos, the Hands of Fate, but that’s just _too_ easy.

And is it just me, or is every movie on **Jaystercom** ’s list a _good_ one? 😕

Sorry Hodge - I guess I just avoid REALLY BAD films because quite honestly I didn’t recognize several on your list. However, don’t intend to run out and see them just to prove you right. I loved **The Spanish Prisoner**. I bring it up because it starred Steve Martin. I’m sure I could think of a zillion other Martin pictures that I’ve enjoyed. It seems weird to highlight him as an actor in bad movies. Could you, ah, **name** the bad Steve Martin movies too which you refer?

My list:

1. Moonraker - The only James Bond flick that I actually hated.

2. Bats - This just sucked. Giant monster movies went out in the 50s. Let’s keep them there, and never speak of them again.

3. Eight Legged Freaks - Just like Bats, only with spiders.

4. The Cell - Just a 90 minute long NIN video. Also:

the detective finds out where the last victim is without going through the serial killer’s mind. So all that messing around in the psycho’s head was pointless, just like this movie.

1. The Patriot - Too bloodthirsty a movie, and with no point. Also very historically inaccurate. This is considered a War movie, putting it in the same genre as Saving Private Ryan, We Were Soldiers and Battle of the Bulge. It’s sad to see an entire genre disgraced by a single Emmerich flick.

2. Hollow Man - This movie too, was too bloodthirsty, again for no reason (I know I sound like the CAPalert guy, I just don’t like pointless bloodshed). All this movie is is some guy’s (probably the director) sick rape fantasy.

3. Anaconda - I have nothing to say about this movie, and if I did try to explain it, I’d have an anerysm.

4. Space Cowboys - This movie had a good idea, but it ripped off another bad movie, Armageddon. Also, it was really predictable and cliched.

5. Feeders 2 - Words cannot possibly describe this one. Picture Signs only without the crop circles, the faith thing, and with .00001% the budget. And replace Mel Gibson with some guy named Mark Polonia.

6. Wishmaster - Just more evidence that Wes Craver should be stuck on a rocket and shot into the center of the Sun. He is the same moron who brought us Jeepers Creepers, and the Scream movies. Wes Craven, I hate you. You are quite possibly the worst filmmaker of the 20th century. Wishmaster had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I think you should be committed into an asylum for releasing Wishmaster instead of burning all copies of it like the Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings, Queens, and other leaders of the world’s industrial nations, and the Pope advised you to do.

Bah, you listed most of the best bad movies. I’ll have to chime in with a me too on these (I’m trying to ignore sequels):
_Battlefield Earth
Dungeons and Dragons
Showgirls
Navy Seals
Space Truckers (I might be first on this one)
Howard the Duck (I might be first on this one too)
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
Waterworld
Glitter
Barb Wire_

I consider _Hudson Hawk_, _Starship Troopers_ and _Cool World_ guilty pleasures…I shouldn’t enjoy watching them, but I do.

I have seen and despised :

_Sizzle Beach_ USA starring Kevin Costner,
_Leonard Part 6_ starring Bill Cosby,
the Willard Huyck double _Howard the Duck_ and _Best Defense_, which he directed consecutively.

But far far worse than these _Operation Kid Brother_ starring Sean Connery’s brother Neil.

I hope never to see their like again.

This list includes only movies I actually saw all the way through (usually against my will)

The Jackal - Turning a book about a mysterious strategic genius fighting a one-man guerilla war into a sad chain of events involving a middle-aged hobby assassin.

Sugar & Spice - a sad excuse for showing off a lot of young “talent” (talent that will sag and get wrinkles soon)

Dead & Loving It - Parodies are fine, but they’re supposed to be COHERENT

Batman & Robin - yep.

Romeo & Juliet - One of Shakespeare’s worst plays, done in such a way as to betray the whole FEELING of Shakespeare

Supernova - a prelude with credits at the end

Jewel of the Nile - Just plain silly, with none of the wit or satire of Romancing the Stone

Highlander II - WTF?!?!?!

Dracula 2000 - Jeri Ryan’s last chance to be human. Go home, Winona

The Nutty Professor - Fat jokes, bathroom jokes, sexism and other crudenesses… Eddie Murphy’s style at its most extreme.

How can so many people out there think that **Moulin Rouge** could possibly deserve a vote for worst movie???

It may not be to your taste, but it was interesting, funny, full of music, and the story was poignant and sad. It was a visual treat with a lot of camera effects and OTT CGI moments. Whatever it was, and whatever anyone thinks, it could NEVER be considered a _bad_ movie in any sense.

Especially when there are _really_ woeful films out there, like **Lake Placid** or **Deep Blue Sea** or **What Lies Beneath** (which was truly, truly awful)

You’re not joking, but even some of your choices leave me confused. Austin Powers? C’mon. Classic (even the critics by and large loved it). Moulin Rouge?

And, dammit, I don’t care what anyone says but **I loved Freddy Got Fingered**. Unfortunately, I have very little in the way of critical defense, except that A.O. Scott of the New York Times liked it too. My friends and him appear to be the only ones, though.

My list of relatively recent movies (in no particular order)

Rollerball (the remake)
Blues Brothers 2000
A Walk in the Clouds (Keanu Reeves in a serious romantic role, dude.)
The Mod Squad
Mr. Magoo
Dead Man on Campus
Mortal Kombat (and to think I saw the midnight screening of this movie. Heck, I’ve never even played the game.)
Spy Hard (you know, I do like Leslie Nielson, but after Naked Gun, I haven’t been able to find one decent movie he’s been in.)
Half Baked
Sliver
