My viewing settings are on the default, 50 posts per page of a thread. And most threads show up that way. But there’s a thread in CS, [Most right and left wing TV shows?](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=527105), that, as I’m looking at it right now, has 104 posts, and they’re all showing up on one page. Is this some sort of glitch, or is there some explicable reason for it? ---

3 pages for me. I have seen that happen (to a much lesser extent) when I am doing quick replies and never closing the tab. ---

I was gonna comment on how this happens when I play Mafia, and hope that the OP would know what I meant, but then, I see that Chronos is the OP. :eek: So, Chronos, it happens when I play Mafia [Big surprise here, eh?] But, if you refresh, and stay on a page, the posts are added at the end, only when you leave and come back, will the next page show up. Much like Sapo says. ---

Yeah, when you use the Quick Reply, it doesn’t add a new page, but that’s not what happened here. The listing for the thread in the Cafe Society forum showed it as having 103 replies, but didn’t have links for a second or third page. And there were posts past 50 that were from weeks ago, so it’s not like the database hadn’t had a chance to add the new page. ---

I had 150 posts per page for a brief time earlier today. I think the hampsters were given the wrong meds today. ---

I’d like to know how you got 50 posts per page. That number isn’t even an option. The drop-down has “40” and “100”, but no “50”. ---

OK, it looks like that would account for it exactly. It must have just been a fluke that there weren’t any other 51+ post threads that I was looking at during the time it was in effect. ---

I suppose since it’s already the default, there’s no need to list it again.
