1. I think.

Mont St Michel
Galapagos Islands
Colosseum of Rome
Machu Picchu
St Peter’s Basilica
Matterhorn
New York Skyline
Amazon Rain Forest
Uffizi Gallery
Eiffel Tower
Sistine Chapel
Delphi
British Museum
Alhambra
Louvre Museum
Canals of Venice
St Mark’s Basilica
Versailles
Florence Cityscape
Chambord Chateau
Acropolis

I hadn’t heard of several of the places on that list - but a lot of the ones I had heard of that I haven’t been to have been on my list of “Things I want to see” for a while… The remaining European ones should be easy; the others will take a bit more planning!

Not many - 8:

22 Acropolis (Well, I saw the Parthenon as a distant landmark, from Athens - didn’t have time to go there)
37 Hong Kong
42 Canals of Venice
75 Baalbek
76 Mont St Michel
79 Stonehenge
86 Eiffel Tower
89 British Museum

Kind of a dumb list, but whatever. Nineteen.

Grand Canyon

Coliseum of Rome
St. Peter’s
Sistine Chapel
The Louvre
Venice
Hagia Sofia
St. Mark’s
Florence
Topkapi Palace

New York skyline

Me. We went to the Accademia, where the David is, though. I can’t imagine there’s anything better at the Uffizi, and we were a bit museumed-out by the time we reached Florence.

ETA: The more I think about it, the more annoyed I am by this list. I’ve been to nineteen countries on four continents, but most of my hits are from Western Europe. Lame.

17:

Stonehenge
Grand Canyon
Yellowstone NP
Machu Picchu
Santorini
New York Skyline
Amazon Rain Forest
Eiffel Tower
British Museum
Louvre Museum
Yosemite NP
Versailles
Carlsbad Caverns
Acropolis \*
Banff NP
San Francisco
Hagia Sofia

- One thing; “Acropolis” actually means highest city. There are acropolises all over Greece and I suppose other countries (Italy, Turkey) in that they’re the buildings up on a hill usually constructed for defensive reasons. I assume for the purposes of this list they’re referring to the Acropolis of Athens where you’ll find the Parthenon.

Rereading others’ lists I see I missed 2, so 19.

Delphi
Metropolitan Museum of Art

I’ve seen the greatest wonder of the world already, that they failed to list… Space shuttle launch. Twice.

Only seen a half dozen of the rest.
