I’ve got hundreds of Dead CDs. I listen to them constantly.
People of all generations recognise Elvis. The same cannot be said of the Dead. This is even true in my generation (I’m 22) and is more true with people younger than me (IMO). 50 years from now Elvis will still be known universally, while Gerry will not. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if you could say that now.
Note, this has nothing to do with the quality of the Dead’s music.
