Alleged victim.

But Trump was being an idiot. As usual. And those who cheered him were idiots too.

> If every single person in these boards explained every single instance where we’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted, we’d break the server.

No kidding.

I posted several instances of abuse in the #whyididn’treport thread. I left out all of the numerous catcalls, the comments about my body by men I don’t know, men touching me without permission, men propositioning me at my work, being called shitty names cuz I didn’t respond how they wanted me to, being told rape jokes haha, being told to smile, oh and the endless commentary about how women should behave.

If all of us who have experienced sexual harassment/abuse/assault were to recount all of the events? Yeah.

ETA: And let’s not forget the sly sexual innuendo that they pretend they didn’t mean when you call them on it. Sleaze.

> I think you are wrong in many ways.
> Do women feel stronger and more empowered than ever now? Very subjective. I would say, no not particularly. What I notice is that women are fucking angry, and that anger was lit by a serial sexual abuser winning the white house over a woman, and very much BECAUSE she was a woman. Being angry and feeling empowered are very different things.
>
> The vast majority of sexual harassment of all kinds, and sexual assaults and rapes are not reported, not talked about to anyone, by and large (and that would include male victims too). For this to change, there would have to be an enormous tidal wave of change in almost every facet of life for women, at least in those parts that include men. That simply is not happening right now. So that statement is just a man’s totally wrong assessment based on his own completely ignorant subjective opinion. To be polite.
>
> If you think “girls” get on the web and tattle to their “girlfriends” about sexual abuse, you are um, wrong. I could say "wrong’ in stronger terms, the very strongest terms I know. But I won’t. You will never know how hard it is for women to tell the truth. The #metoo movement is not about making telling the truth so easy everybody’s going to do it. It’s about making it possible at all. The vast majority of women, still, are silent.

No I dont have"Proof" that women are more empowered to speak up. Its just from my expereince at work I see women speaking up all the time if a man would make an unwelcome advance or say something in appropriate.

Now if a 15 year old girl who has lied to her parents and went to a party she wasnt supposed to be at, was drinking, and a boy pushed her down and tried to have sex with her, would she report it… today?

Depends. Most young women I know go thru rape prevention courses, courses on preventing date rape and standing up to sexual pressure and are trained in how to fight back and are heavily lectured “no means no” and how and why they should always report sexual assault. Yes, I think those girls would. But what about one who hasn’t? I dont know. What about those who are still scared their parents will find out she had lied about her whereabouts? I dont know.

Or might she not report it for fear of losing face with her peers? I dont know.

There are lots of possibilities.

Question though, back then had you taken courses in preventing sexual assault? Were there systems in place for young women to report date rape?

I mean nowadays their are phone numbers linked to persons trained to help victims. Most college campuses have rape crisis centers. Those were not around 40 years ago.

I call bullshit on this. My daughters are in their early to mid-20’s, and I work with many young women. I don’t know ANY who’ve had “rape-prevention courses”. In sex-ed in high school, yes, “no means no” was touched upon, but “rape-prevention courses”? For “Most young women”??? I believe you’re doing your usual making-up facts to fit your pre-conceived notions that we’ve all come to expect from you.

He or she that sets out for revenge should dig two graves.

Yes! I don’t know why people don’t get this. The head and torso of an enemy need to be buried seperate from each other.

Well I know several who have. And why shouldnt they? These are available. Some karate schools offer them.

No, I don’t remember having any courses. I never told anyone about it because I was ashamed. I believed it was my fault. I went to his apartment to watch the Miss America contest (of all things!) and I accepted the alcoholic beverage he gave me. I should have known better, but he seemed like such a nice guy. He wasn’t violent during the rape, but I sure didn’t participate. I can’t even imagine enjoying that kind of sex. I also knew I wouldn’t be believed anyway.
