I’ve heard that, under Nevada election law, if there is an exact tie in any election, it’s resolved by the two candidates playing a single hand of five-card-stud. Yeah, it’s exactly equivalent to the coin flip most places use, but it’s still a fun factoid. ---

Current reality [NRS: CHAPTER 293 - ELECTIONS](http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-293.html#NRS293Sec400) is rather more prosaic: Tied candidates draw lots under the supervision of the Secretary of State. Interestingly, this section explicitly doesn’t address Presidential elections. That’s handled in NRS Section 298 [NRS: CHAPTER 298 - PRESIDENTIAL ELECTORS AND ELECTIONS](http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-298.html#NRS298). Which is about electors & such, and requires they vote for the candidate who got the most popular votes. But says nothing about what to do if a tie occurred in that popular vote. ---
