STI stands for “Sexually Transmitted Infection.”

I especially like the attempt to fit in “pelvic inflammatory disease.”

This crazy Brit knows them as STDs (Diseases) _and_ STIs (Infections). STI seems to be the more common tag nowdays (certainly in the circles I move in - Drugs/Health worker).

SDI seems to be the OP’s own invention;)

Presumably ‘Infection’ wins over ‘Disease’ because ‘infection’ includes parasites such as lice, which I’m not sure can properly be called a disease.
