It’s that time of year again! The playoff teams are set, so it’s time for our annual contest – can you predict the Super Bowl a month before the game and join our list of champions?: [Year 1](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=231858): **Trillionaire** [Year 2](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=294932): **Uncommon Sense** [Year 3](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=352167): **Airman Doors, USAF** [Year 4](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=402369): **Grits and Hard Toast** [Year 5](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=449706): **Hal Briston** (woohoo!) [Year 6](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=499473): **dalej42** [Year 7](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=546474): **Justin\_Bailey** [Year 8](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=591491): **Hamlet** [Year 9](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=637014): **Hal Briston** (woohoo again!) [Year 10](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=677312): **enalzi** [Year 11](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=711681): **Jahiegel** [Year 12](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=744800): **borschevsky** [Year 13](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=780013): **Oakminster** It’s simple to play – just post your pick for the two Super Bowl teams, and the final score. Deadline for submissions will be 4:00 pm Eastern on Saturday, January 7th (just before kickoff of the first playoff game). As for my prediction: Oh baby…time for my third title! As it turns out, the Giants _didn’t_ actually blow their “every four years” pattern, they just sort of…delayed it by a year. In any case, I’m going with the pick that has given me my two previous titles in this game: **Giants 38, Patriots 35** (I actually don’t think it will be nearly that high of a score, but that exact pick has worked for me twice before, so who am I to fuck with fate?) **PLEASE NOTE:** It’s not an absolute requirement, but it’s very helpful to me if you format your pick the same way I did above – “Winning team name and score, losing team name and score”, on its own line. No locations, just the name. Feel free to add any other commentary on a separate line. Thanks! * * * As always, just in case you don’t follow football but still wanna play along, just pick an AFC team, an NFC team, and a couple of numbers that sound vaguely football-scorish. AFC Teams: New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Oakland Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers NFC Teams: Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks ---
