I chose my team the first time I played, and they lost a heartbreaker in the second round. So I did not choose them after that and they went all the way. I kept on not choosing them, but that became less and less effective.

I cannot. Fucking. \*Believe \*that I forgot to start this thread. I mean…hell, I know I haven’t been spending much time here the past couple of years, and live has been ridiculously busy, but geez, I always looked forward to running this one.

I guess the combo of my Giants completely falling apart and me crapping out in every pool I was in just kind of pushed it out of the back of my mind.

Well, I know it doesn’t count, but I’ve been calling for a Vikes/Pats SB, so I’ll unofficially go:

How I see it working:  
If you picked the loser and the **exact score** , you will win. If no one has the exact score, we will do the closest score, based on past rules.

If the Eagles win and no one has the Patriots losing by that exact score, the title will go to **phungi**.

Note also that I have greyed out **Labtrash** and **borschevsky** : since they picked identical scores to the players listed above them, they are out because the teams they chose fell out of the playoffs earlier.  
If you spot an error in my list, speak up. I am only human-zzzt-blip-pop-pop-zowww …

Wait, what? Can you give an example of a result where the Eagles win but **phungi** doesn’t win the pool? Do we really have a set of rules where you can pick the winner of the Super Bowl but lose to someone who didn’t? I thought picking the winner correctly was always ahead of either picking the loser or anything to do with picking the scores, as **enalzi** said last page:

I have not done this before, so maybe I got confused. I imagine the twelve who picked the loser would be out, since there are picks for either team to win.

I have a bad cold and this is hurting my head today.

There are 15 who picked the Patriots to win, but none of them picked Pats vs Eagles. So if the Pats win, we have to go to a closest to actual score model, with the score they picked for whoever they picked for the loser standing in for the Eagles score.

If the Eagles win, phungi wins. Period. No need to look at who picked the loser correctly, who got closest to a score, anything like that.

The score comes only into play if either (a) or multiple people make the same “winning” pick, whether it be picked both and got winner correctly or picked winner but not loser, or any other rule 1-4 above; (b) no one picked EITHER SB team correctly.

I think we agreed back on page 1 to swap 2 & 3 as I quoted above, so picking the winner & getting the loser wrong beats picking both correctly but not picking the winner. It doesn’t matter this year anyway, since no one picked Eagles & Pats at all.
