Deadline for submissions will be 4:00 pm Eastern on Saturday, January 6th (just before kickoff of the first playoff game). Format your choices as you like, and I will figure it out. Simple is better. As always, just in case you don’t follow football but still wanna play along, just pick an AFC team, an NFC team, and a couple of numbers that sound vaguely football-scorish. AFC Teams: Baltimore Ravens New England Patriots Houston Texans Kansas City Chiefs LA Chargers Indianapolis Colts NFC Teams: New Orleans Saints LA Rams Chicago Bears Dallas Cowboys Seattle Seahawks Philadelphia Eagles Note that you should try to pick a unique score: scan the thread to make sure you are not duplicating someone else’s pick, because the game winner would be the first player to make that pick. I will try to keep an eye on things an send a PM when a duplication happens. All the other tie-breaking rules are the same as in previous years and can be reviewed in previous threads linked above. ---

And yes, I erred by just doing a quick cut and paste: the cutoff time is 1:35 Pacific / 4:35 Eastern on the 5th (not the 6th), when the Colts@Texans game kicks off. ---

Just because we’ve argued about it in the past, and the rules underwent some changes over the years, here’s what I believe the final iteration was: 1. Picked both teams, got winner correct 2. Picked both teams, got winner wrong 3. Picked winner correctly 4. Picked loser correctly 5. Closest to individual scores 6. Closest to predicted margin of victory Rule 5 used to be “closest to total score”, but that led to the ugly possibility that someone who predicted 60-0 would beat someone who predicted 33-28 if the final score wound up being 33-27. ---
