I saw that thread when it first was begun, but I didn’t read past the first post or two. (In general, I try not to click on anything with “porn” in the title whilst at work. You understand.) Well, then, two things: 1. You were both being smug bastards in that thread, 2. Yeah, but that’s _ **handy** _ for you, **Otto**. When called on his mistakes, I’ve never known him to either admit it or apologize. I find it best to merely recuse what he posts, even when he may be correct. It keeps my blood pressure lower. I can’t change him, but I can change my attitude towards him. ---

I had to go find [my personal example](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=195935) of **handy** being full of shit. The only possible explanation for his utterly useless contribution there is that he wants to sound knowledgeable, yet he has nothing useful to say. He doesn’t care if he’s helpful, so long as he can **act like** he’s the smart guy who solved the problem. When called on it, he fights back a little, and when it’s demonstrated that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, he never comes back.
