Okay so let me get this straight, AK 47’s are legal but potato guns are _illegal_? Am I crazy or does that seem a little strange. If you are fully aware that something is going to fly out of something else at a very high velocity, it would seem logical not to look directly down the barrel of that something else. Dumb kid. A few friends of mine used to play with potato guns all the time. No barbecues within 5 miles had their iginitors after a while. Incidentally, we live in the country so it’s not as many people as you might think. ---

You can get semi-auto Ak-47 lookalikes at almost any gun store though. I also agree that making potato guns illegal is ridculous - I had one in my early teen years, and the worst me and my friends ever got from them was bruises and minor burns. Of course, we used tennis balls, not potatoes, as ammo, and they don’t hurt as much. ---

Speaking as a spudgun owner, I constructed mine from excess stuff found in my shop while recovering from an accident when I had way too much time on my hands. It’s fun, but I treat it as I do my 12 gauge shotgun: My daughter can’t get at it Looking down the barrel is NOT an option No frogs or other reptiles are permitted to participate My only concern is an assault from PETP- People for the Ethical Treament of Potatoes. :wally: ---
