**Terr** would have been better off comparing the outrage expressed in the U.S./U.N./Europe over civilian casualties in the Gaza conflict, to the concern showed over civilian casualties in the Pakistani security forces’ campaign against militants since mid-June (over 1,500 civilian deaths, not much outrage, a bit of concern). I also remember the quite a lot of people being furious when a couple of thousand Palestinian civilians wound up being gutted like fish at the Sabra and Shatilla refugee camps by Christian militiamen during Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982. ---

Note: That people continue to fight isn’t the fault of anyone but those who are fighting and their supporters. I just think it takes a lot of balls to criticize people on how they choose to defend their homes when the conditions that require them to do so were imposed by your predecessors.
