First off is 7 volumes from the 1870s of Popular Science Monthly.

> I’m staffing our library book sale and have come across what might be a treasure for folks here?? Fourteen bound copies, 1872-1879 Popular Science Monthly. The topics range all over and are pretty cool. I can’t guarantee that the bindings will be secure as some are coming loose but the contents are all there. We charge $1 per hardback and it would be nice to be reimbursed for shipping. I can e-mail back to anyone who provides an e-mail addy in their profile. Apologies in advance if this is…

I’m only looking to be reimbursed for shipping.

As you can see the covers are in terrible shape but the insides of books are overall fine.

Also a question.

Is there a book rate still with the USPS or is media rate the best.

Answered in your original posting.

Yes, there is. It is called Media Mail (USPS). Slightly slower but significantly cheaper than Fed EX, UPS or regular parcel post.

## **Media Mail**

### **Shipping in 2–8 Days[6](https://www.usps.com/ship/mail-shipping-services.htm#6)**

Media Mail® is a cost-effective way to send eligible books, media, and educational materials. You can only send certain types of media: If you try to include anything that’s not allowed, you (or your recipient) will have to pay higher postage rates. All Media Mail packages are subject to opening and inspection by the Postal Service. Prices start at $4.47 at a Post Office.

### **Using Media Mail**

Here’s what you can send:

- Books (at least 8 pages)

- 16-millimeter or narrower width films

- Printed music and test materials

- Video and sound recordings (including tapes, albums, and CDs/DVDs)

- Playscripts and manuscripts

- Printed educational reference charts

- Medical loose-leaf pages and binders

- Computer-readable media

**NOTE:** Video games, computer drives, and digital drives do not qualify for Media Mail prices.

### **Weight, Size, & Shape Requirements**

- Maximum weight is 70 lbs.
