Not quite. What you describe is a combination of a crusta and a sidecar. Sidecar Recipes do not show any sugar rim. Crustas have the sugar rim you describe.

I would suggest that Fish not make either of these drinks for her play. Shaking up carbonated drinks is generally frowned upon.

Right now I’m leaning toward a Bloody Mary in one scene, and Whiskey Sour in another. There’s a certain conservation of props, you see: tomato juice, lemon juice, vodka, whiskey.

Also, someone just lent me a period (well, 1961) book on cocktails.
