# 1970s/1980s hair rock awesomeness

I’ve been toying around the idea of a wall-smashing compilation CD-mix of 70s to early 80s rock and roll. What songs from that era do you think are badass?
Criterion 1: The song must ROCKKKKKKKK
Criterion 2: see 1
My thoughts so far include

While Don’t Stop Believin’ is a definite crowd pleaser, if you really want to bust out the walls, Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) is IMHO the #1 rocking Journey song.

If you want some really rockin’ Journey, get some old Journey from before Steve Perry joined the group. Something like “Look Into The Future”.
And of course no rockin’ 70’s compilation would be complete without some Uriah Heep!

Psssh, no you cannot. Although I did briefly consider “Trash” by the NYC Dolls but then decided it was outside of the ouevre I was shooting for.
Thanks for the suggestions, keep’em coming. Stuff like **The Who** or David Bowie never really occurred to me–I guess I was really thinking of American-based stuff. (Don’t get me wrong, I love both of the aforementioned artists.)

These most certainly are NOT ‘hair rock’ bands.
Perhaps such candidates from the ol’ Power Hour…
Quiet Riot = Come on Feel the Noise
Zebra = Tell Me What You Want
Ratt = Round and Round
Yeah, those could be considered hair rock…wait, what the heck is hair rock anyway, do you mean Hair Metal? Or plain ol’ rock? Pssh yourself, Punk could definitely be more hard rocking than Hair metal any old day…
