I’m not sure what’s more shocking, the (currently) 20% of respondents whose average BM takes less than a minute, or the 10% of respondents who take half an hour. ---

My average is 7.333333 minutes. My median is 14 minutes. My midrange is 16.5 minutes. Wait, were we supposed to include the wipe time, or just the amount of time it takes for the bowel movement to clear the anus from the time the thighs hit the seat? I have the statistics available for both, with public vs. home toilet differentials also on hand. ---

Interesting you should mention this today. I began editing a tvtropes page this morning when I felt the desire to defecate. I left my workstation, traversed the hall to the waiting commodes, completed business in a rather typical manner for me, then returned to the matters at hand to find the tvtropes timer still going. Allowing for time walking and washing hands, three minutes is about right. ---
