Question #1: What are your opinions on men’s capris? 2: If your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/etc tells you that they don’t like a garment, are you obligated to bow to his/her preferences? I really want to buy some capris for work, but Anagramless Guy hates them on men. ---

Duuuuuude! No way are capris for men! No way! I think they look stupid on most _women._ **Swampy** should be along shortly to tell you he agrees, I’m sure. Honestly, you should wear what makes you happy and not “bow” to you SO’s wishes regarding your clothing. However, I have to be honest and say capris are a major no no. Just sayin…you know I still likes ya! ---

Just like women’s capris, it depends on the person. I’ve seen some that look great, and others that looked horrible. I would only stop wearing something if my husband absolutely hated it, or if he were embarrassed by it. So far, that hasn’t happened. OTOH, he is so clueless about what looks good/bad on him, that if I tell him to never wear something again, he won’t. ---

As a general rule, I veto the male capri. On females, lobsterfinders (clamdiggers) and capris and whateverinthefuckitisyouguyshaveinthewayofshortpants look good on some gals and not as good on others. Listen to your body. Wear what works for ya. If you wanna rock the capri, go on with your bad self. You better give us a picture for blackmail, though. ---

1. No on the capris 2. Generally go with the SO’s preference. While they aren’t wearing it, they ARE looking at it, and probably more often than you are. See also, haircuts. I cut my hair so that I look good when people look at me, not so that I look good to myself for the 2 minutes a day I’m at a mirror. The only override is if I think the SO’s preference looks stupid, if the wife wanted me to wear capris, i’d tell her to jump in a lake. ---

Manpris? Not unless you want to look like [this guy](http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/go_fug_yourself/2005/07/letter_of_fug_t.html). Some capris look good on SOME people. I’m short, and most make me look like a pirate. Except for these one white pair I have that are slightly flared at the bottom. Sounds ridiculous, but they actually look really good on me. ---

**Guin** you say that as if looking like a pirate is a bad thing. 😃 **NO! NO! NO!** to the manpris **donkeybear**! Just don’t. Just say no. Let’s let this fashion faux pas die the horrible death it deserves. Oh and as to the SO approving or disapproving of the ensemble, I have a SO who covets my shirts, so I get no disapproval of my fashion choices. I do, however, have to keep a close watch on my shirts. ---

I have to say that some of the examples posted just look live Very Long Shorts. I seem to recall Capris being cut to accentuate the calf, etc…more contoured. I think if a fellow makes it very clear that they’re Very Long Shorts, _not_ Capris, he _might_ be able to keep his Man Card. 1. Manpris pretty much look like long shorts, so as long as the man wearing them doesn’t refer to them as Capris, he should be able to pull it off. Personally, not a chance in hell am I wearing those things. 2)If she uses the phrase “You look sexy in…” you bet I follow her advice. I’m a chump like that.
