1. Since you asked, my opinion is that they look ridiculous on the vast majority of the men I’ve seen in them. I’d really re-think your decision. 2. No, of course you’re not obligated to follow your SO’s preferences. Wear what you like. Despite my answer to question 1, I think everyone should wear what makes them happy. I may not like looking at it, but do you care what I think? You shouldn’t. Man up. ---

Hello. My name is **FaerieBeth** , and I used to wear capris. I, too, am short, so I looked like a pirate. Oh, and I have chubby cheeks, so I looked like a chipmunk pirate. Think of that female chipmunk on Chip & Dale’s Rescue Rangers. Dressed as a pirate. Yeah. I have since turned aside from my evil capri-wearing ways. The switch was made mainly to please my significant other. I put them on and looked in the mirror. He may not have been right about the new top I bought, or my favorite shoes, but he was right about the capris. So, in response to part two of your question, you’re not obliged, but sometimes the SO is right. ---

Kids around here have been wearing long shorts like that since the 90’s. Often sagging them down to around ass-crack level. They call them “homey shorts” when they have any specific name for them. ---

I thought capris by definition were tight around the calf? Those would look weird on a man to me … just MHO. However, loose, flowing manpris just look like long shorts to me :shrug: Can’t get worked up about this one. ---

It really looks like most of you are condemming baggy shorts. I have the legs of a 5 foot tall person, and the torso of a six foot tall person. All shorts are baggy on me, Soccer shorts go to my knee. On the other hand, the last time pants with fitted cuffs were accepted on men, it was the late 80’s - early 90’s. The men in question were M.C. Hammer and his entourage. If you want to go back to doing that sort of thing, go ahead, I guess. Mind you, this observation comes from someone who has been seen wearing both cowboy and Dr. Marten’s boots with his shorts, and is not particularly flamboyant or gay, just oblivious to fashion. This information should either make you realize how unnacceptable capri pants are (even I wouldn’t wear them), or, should make you realize what wonderful fashion sense you have (hey, that dumbass in the shorts and boots can’t know what he is talking about). On the second question: No, I can’t say that I listen to her fashion suggestions. I wear shorts and boots, or the green dress suit, and she just rolls her eyes now. ---

Would manpris be worse than short shorts on a man? 'Cause around here, older men absolutely refuse to wear the more stylish long shorts that come almost to the knee. Instead, they prefer the type they wore 30 years ago, that come up high on the thigh. Go to the Wal-Mart pharmacy on any given day, it’s like an ‘All You Can Eat Buffet’ of Grandpa thigh meat.
