I have not read this whole thread, and do not intend to, but I will offer a clarification: following an incident many years ago (_I_ was the offender) Ed set forth the rule that moderators were not supposed to begin Pit threads directed against other posters. In general, moderators are not supposed to flame other posters during their moderator duties. There’s a lot of grey area here, of course, since it’s difficult to tell someone to stop being a jerk without, well, saying that someone is being a jerk. However, separate from their moderating roles, moderators are also posters and are entitled to do what normal posters do (and follow the same rules as normal posters, as well, which would mean no flaming outside the Pit.) We have, several times, discussed setting up separate usernames for moderators when they are acting as moderators – for instance, me being “SD Staff Dex” when I’m moderating and “C K Dexter Haven” when I’m just posting. We’ve always rejected that idea as being (a) clumsy and awkward and (b) incompatible with the notion of one name per person. ---

A couple of months ago **Wee Bairn** researched my family and contacted my mother a couple of times to see if I really was her son. She gave him hell and he threatened to dig up any damaging posts of mine to send to her. I reported it as stalking behavior and was notified that this was widely known. That should be enough for anyone to get banned. ---

I just looked at the names on the e-mails and they sounded like it would be Wee Bairn. It was some psycho person but I have no proof of a user name now that you mention it although I have the real name. ---
